The situation was excellent - right near the centre of the city. The apartment was clean and it was useful to have a lift for bringing the luggage upstairs. The ceiling fan was also useful as it was very hot. Although there was hardly any natural light and the apartment was quite dark, there were several electric lights.

There were no sharp knives! We needed a bread knife and a knife for cutting vegetables. We tried to make a meal and found it difficult to cut the vegetables with a table knife. Also there was no potato peeler. A dustpan and brush would have been useful so that we could deal with any minor spills. A kettle and toaster would have been nice too! The washing machine may have been used if we had been given instructions on how to use it. We also found it very difficult to lock/unlock the front door. The TV was all Italian channels and no instructions on how to use it. The Internet access was unavailable - we were told there was trouble with Italian telecom.
