After spending a few nights in a poky hotel in Rome, this was indeed a palace! It seems not just very new, but very high-quality structure and furnishings. The beds were very comfortable, there was lots of space, the parquet floor was far nicer than carpet and warmer than tiles; the flat screen TV added a touch of luxury (though some more non-Italian stations would be great). The only drawbacks were as mentioned above - no internet access in the hotel, limited view, somewhat over-formal staff. But if returning to Sorrento, I would book here again without even looking at alternatives. And the value of the central location in Sorrento (on a quiet alley 50m to the main square; 500m to the train/bus station and 500m down the cliff to the port) cannot be over-estimated in a town where the taxi fares are just outrageous (at least (46841238)
