A lack of care generally with the room, and lack of space in the room for the money. You should be told in advance about the reception opening hours, so you can chose if you are happy with the inconvenience this can cause you. (108015868)

positive comments Really central location for seeing the tower etc. and for restaurants. Good that hotel can supply you with a parking voucher enabling you to park legally for a reasonable ammount.
negative comments The bed was far too big for the room, which meant it was really cramped, we only had one large suitcase between us, but had we had two we would have really struggled with space to put it somewhere. Also when we arrived at the hotel it was shut and there was a notice on the door saying that we had to contact their sister hotel for someone to come over and let us in, luckily we had a phone on us to enable us to ring up and say we were waiting, otherwise we would have had to find our way with all our luggage to the other hotel and then walk back again. Nowhere on any booking information were we told that they had restrictive reception hours. We were waiting a good 10 minutes for someone to turn up and let us in, no apology or anything for the inconvenience. If you were on your own you wouldn't want to be waiting in a dark street for 10 minutes. If we had known this we may not have booked this hotel, we just assumed that because it didn't say otherwise the reception would manned at all hours. Also there was a mini bar in the room but all it had in it was water, we were quite hungry when we arrived but it was too late to get any food, so it would have been good if there was some snacks and alcoholic drinks in the fridge, it seems a bit pointless having it in the room then not stocking it with stuff. Lightbulbs needed changing on some of the light fittings, the battery was missing from the safe, which meant we had to go and find someone, tell them, then all they did was get one from a safe in another room!

The hotel and reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, very efficient and spoke very good English. The hotel was located close to the centre of town and the Tower, easy to walk everywhere, not too far to the train station either (15 min walk). We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel after checking out whilst we visted the Tower and Cathedral. (99488468)

positive comments Clean and quiet room, despite overlooking the street. Had a safe in the room too.
negative comments Room was a little small, but perfectly fine for a weekend break

The young girl on duty at breakfast time was not particularly good at serving residents - she carried out a number of other duties, for example, opening up the bar, tidying up the outside patio area and setting up the awning at the front of the hotel - but didn't pay much attention to making sure the guests were catered for at breakfast. Maybe more empathsis should be placed on meeting the guests requirements, rather than getting the bar ready for the day. (99194261)

positive comments Location was excellent - very nice junior suite on the top floor
negative comments The service at breakfast time was a little disappointing.
