The location (easy access to ss 131) makes this a good choice as a base for a fly-drive trip, as well as for people who want to ride the property's horses. Perhaps other reviews led us to think the pool and spa facilities were more extensive than they are. The weather can make or break the stay - if it rains or is cold, the pool area is less inviting and you could get wet & cold walking to the 'suites', which are probably what English guests would call chalets or bungalows. It's well worth eating in - it introduces you to dishes you might not try elsewhere, washed down with copious amounts of red wine and/or water (included in the price). If you ask, they can manage to work round your dietary requests, although it is a set menu. The chef made us a splendid birthday cake, too! (99118038)
