The Hotel Vittoria is superbly situated, being next to the railway station and on the historic Via Balbi with its Palaces and University buildings. The Hotel gives the impression of being a family run hotel - the staff really care about their guests . Whilst it lacks the full range of amenities offered by 4 and 5 star hotels, everything is clean and in reasonable working order. Most importantly, the staff are all genuinely friendly and helpful in a way which makes you wonder why you need to stay in a more expensive but impersonal hotel. Certainly, for the kind of business stay where all that is required is a place to get a good nights sleep, wash and refreshing breakfast, the Hotel Vittoria ticks all the boxes. (108011725)

positive comments Website easy to use and provided prompt confirmation of my booking Check in staff were very welcoming and happy to help in any way they could. Really made me feel at home. Very helpful staff at car park around the corner Breakfast staff similarly were very welcoming in the morning. The breakfast was a basic continental fare (as described) but was actually very tasty with a reasonable cappuccino, nice orange juice, good cereals and croissants and overall made a nice start to the day. The bed looked old but was actually very comfortable. Very little noise - unlike some of the stations which are nearer to the Railway station
negative comments The room appeared very spartan with few "creature comforts" The shower had poor water flow - I was on the 5th floor and my colleague on the 3rd floor said his was fine so I guess it was the problem of being at the top of the hotel The lifts are all fairly cramped and claustrophobic - I decided to walk the 190 steps from street level up to my room instead!
