Overall, we thought this was a fantastic place to stay - away from the mainstream of foreign tourists in Italy so it felt as if we were virtually embedded right into the Italian way of life. Very little English is spoken (apart from one member of staff who had excellent English) so it was just as well we had an Italian phrase book. Trying to make ourselves understood in this way was actually a highlight of our holiday, and a source of amusement for all, and the staff did everything they could to make us enjoy our stay to the utmost. But it might be a point worth making clearer in advance for those less inclined to attempt communicating in another language. The food (including the wide variety of seafood) both here and in the town was without exception very fresh and tasty. So while there was the odd niggle relating to the bathroom (which was a design issue), we wouldn't hesitate to book Villa Marelea if we were going that way again. (99653700)
