Overall we were very happy with our stay at the hotel.

The hotel had character and charm. It was well furnished and very clean. It was also in a prime position to take in a visit to Ostia Antica and the castle. They provided a coin to toss in the Trevi Fountain and an Ostia Antica guidebook. We dined at the Monument Restaurant next door for dinner and it served very good food.

None come to mind. The land is low lying so expect a few mosquitoes. Also the hotel is on a main road that can be busy.

The staff were perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome. An old coin was offered in our room for the Trevi Fountain so we might return someday. We caught a wonderful blues concert next door. The neighborhood restaurants were excellent and very charming. Our luggage was handled appropriately and they arranged for a van to the airport that was prompt and efficient. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a laid back, romantic experience.

It was amazing. But I don't want to recommend it too highly in case everyone hears about it and there would be no room for us next time. But it is a very special place.

It had a most splendid view in a wonderful place. It was altogether charming and in a renovated historic building..

Nothing to dislike. Inside , it wasn't modern or particularly luxurious, but just lovely.

would have liked to have seen some signs but it was a good adventure

Arrived at sunset from the train station and had a little difficulty finding the front door but beautiful setting, also some construction to manouver around. The host was friendly and helpful when we finally found the entrance. Very close to the train station-walking distance(about 5 minutes). Very attractive medieval enclosure with an enchanting castle as backdrop. We went for dinner on the coast in Ostia(little run-down but charming in a local sort of way) a couple of train stops away, very cheap from Rome.
Overall we would liked to have stayed longer as we were there to catch a flight at 4am-taxi driver was very late but hotel host helped us get there. Would have loved to have seen the archeological dig close by but not enough time.

breakfast too cakey, taxi late

Of our six day stay in Italy, we enjoyed this charming hotel the most. Besides the truly authentic room and hotel exterior (not to mention the beautiful castle), we found the staff to be extremely kind and accommodating, who clearly cared about our happiness and satisfaction. We felt as if we were staying with a warm Italian family, not a hotel organization.

The rustic, authentic feel of the hotel and the gracious staff.
