Hotel am Rathaus

Freiburg is a charming place. The Hotel am Rathaus is central and yet quiet. (107272708)

Hotel am Rathaus: Central location good for shopping, restaurants and sight-seeing. Bright modern interior. 'Comfort plus' double room an excellent size and good value for money. Excellent breakfast of cereals, rolls, cheese, meats, fruit, eggs, jams, tea, coffee and juices. Useful internet link and coffee in reception area.

Single 'comfort' rooms quite small - not such good value for the cost. Very difficult to initially find as a pedestrian and if driving to the hotel by car - this is also awkward as the hotel is within a pedestrianised area. Compared to the current general cost of living and the cost of eating out, the hotel is quite expensive for a three star hotel.

The stay was ok but I would not choose this hotel a second time nor would I recommend it for a mature couple. (107148915)

The breakfast was ok.

The loudness of the street. No air conditioning. The room was small.

The room was a good size for my husband, son and I and it was neat and clean. It had an airconditioner which was easy to control to a comfortable temperature. The bathroom was mod and clean and had a wonderful shower that worked well and was a good size. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of town and is within easy walking distance to the main train station. The service is excellent. A perfect example is that a light bulb fussed above the shower the first night we were there which I forgot to report. However, when we returned to the room the next day, it had been replaced! This amazed us! There was a computer in the reception area which was nice to use at leisure. After checking out, the hotel staff were kind enough to look after our luggage (all 6 pieces of it) for a few hours until we finished our business and left for the train station. There was also a nice size bathroom off the reception area which we used to freshen up in before going on our way. (97784773)

This hotel is in a lovely part of town - very central. Rooms were extremely well kept and clean and a good size. Breakfast was enjoyable and quite substatial.

We had no view from our room. We looked onto a tiny court yard and straight into someones office window.
