When we arrived a wedding party had just arrived so our check-in was brief and we were shown the side door into the hotel. The room was on the third floor up very steep stairs which meant that we had to decant our overnight needs into small bags as it was too much to carry up full suitcases. The room was in the roof space so most of the ceilings were low (I am over 6 feet tall). The bathroom was a tiny cubicle and shower was not properly fixed so you had to hold it whilst showering. The furnture was old and tatty and an empty minibar fridge had a very unpleasant smell. As the wedding party monopolised the restaurant we had to drive into Mannheim (about three miles)to find somewhere to eat. WE were advised that breakfast would be available from 8 a.m. but, in practice, we we were locked out until 8.15 when an elderly gent turned up by bicycle to prepare breakfast, which actually turned out to be good except that some of the fresh fruit on the bar was a bit soft and mouldy. No wonder we were asked to pay the bill the night before! I summary I would rate the hotel as barely adequate and would not recommend the establishment. (99958552)
