Rex Hotel

We felt very safe in the hotel, despite the not-so-great location. It was easy to walk to the centre of town and there was good public transportation. The hosts were very helpful. (97222890)

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had booked a "family room", based on the internet photos and the cost, but when we got to the hotel, they had booked us for 2 rooms (thereby doubling the cost). However, when we saw the size of the rooms, it would have been quite small for all of us to fit in 1 family room. We were able to come up with a mutually agreeable price for the rooms, eventually.

Very, very noisy location!!!!!

We booked 2 family rooms (each needed to sleep 2 adults and 2 children) which claimed to accommodate 'up to 4 people'. At check in we were allocated a twin and a triple room. These rooms were tiny but when I complained that these were not what we booked I was told the two family rooms were taken. They managed to squeeze a third bed into the triple room but as the rooms are so small they had to remove the table and chair to do so. The three beds completely covered the floor area. In the second room the partition to the ensuite was lower than the ceiling. The only positive point was I felt the lady on reception did her best to improve a bad situation. (97893264)

Tiny and extremely basic rooms, no parking. I requested parking when I booked but the hotel's car park is a back yard which could just about squeeze in two cars ....it is not a car park!

eventhough the price was low, from the picture of the rooms on the internet i expected better quality. the manager was always available but looked to have to much to do (97388406)

We found that there was no heating in the restaurant area. The kitchen we there cooked the food was unclean and paint was stored in the kitchen & the microwave oven old and unclean and including the fridge, which put us off eating there, especially for our baby. Also we requested for a cot for our baby but when we arrived there was none available so instead there put us in room where there was bunk bed and double bed. Also we requested for transport to be provided from the ferry port but there was no response. If we have known in advance about all of this then we would have booked an hotel else way. (97443422)
