Self catering facilities

The Grand Large was a very pleasant aparthotel. The situation was central for the town and the view from the balcony was wonderful. The checking in/out process was both trouble free and pleasant. All in all the accommodation was very good and would definitely stay there again. It was in a prime position to access the wonderful restuarants and bars and the surfing or sunbathing beaches if needed. We hired a car and found some great beaches up the coast - Ondres in worth a visit. Quiet beach but has a couple of good restuarants on the beach. We also found all the locals were very friendly and although little English spoken they are very helpful when you try to use the little French you may know. A visit to the indoor food market is a must with such a wonderful display of fish, meet, cheese and fruit a veg. We could learn a trick or two about how to display our produce to make it more attractive. The Chex Albert restuarant on the edge of the Port de Pecheur is expensive and to be honest not really worth the cost. Yes it serves fresh fish but so do lots of other restuarants at half the price. The dessert were very good though! All in all a great holiday. Thanks to all. (99945855)

the size of the room and the equipment along with the cleanliness over the whole two weeks with fresh towels every day and clean bed linen at least three times.

unfortunately it could be little noisey outside between about 2 and 3am due to surfers returning home after shutting of bars. It was a for a short time but could interrupt sleep. May be preferable to have room overlooking pool rather than the sea.

The hotel doesn't look that attractive from the outside but the accommodation was excellent. The studio was a great size with everything you could need. Staff were very friendly. If you had mobility problems it might not be a great location as it's up a hill. (99009874)

Once I got over my first impression as I pulled up in the taxi , I was delighted with the Hotel , loved the pool and there was great staff . Very clean and the studio had loads of room to relax and chill out . (99500829)

Very drab outside , was worried when I first pulled up in the taxi ,but that all changed when I got to the room .

Maybe the shuttle bus could have been put to more use. Collecting and leaving guests to airport, train station or to nearby towns and villages (for a small fee) other than having to pay taxi cabs. I stayed in the hotel in May but maybe this facility is there in the summer months when the hotel is much busier. (99724482)

Room very much a studio, with all equipment necessary for a 2+2 family - as such great value. Hotel really well situated in Biarritz - only a few minutes walk from centre of town, and from beaches, cliff walks etc. Staff very helpful. Breakfast serving area rather small, even at an off-peak time of year. But, given the pricing, and the value for money in Biarritz terms, this would be an excellent choice for a family summer holiday. (99222547)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shower was great. It was very handy to have a little kitchen with a fridge so you could have a snack if you wished.

If you were immobile or were elderly the hotel was up a steep hill. Also we took the bus so the hotel wasn't very well signposted, when we got off the bus.

We were pleasantly surprised as we had a good view of the ocean from our balcony. It was great having the kitchen facilities as we could cater for ourselves if we wanted. Our 4 bed apartment was very well laid out. Full equipped with everything we needed for our 3 night stay in Biarritz. Lovely view over the town and the ocean. The room was extremely clean. The service was prompt and friendly. We could not believe the value for money we got at this hotel.

My friend and I had never been to Biarritz before and the information in the Hotel Details prompted us to book. We were very happy with the location and standard of the hotel. The view from our studio was breathtaking, highly recommend requesting a sea view. The breakfast at 7 euros was fresh and plentiful with decent tea bags!!, all the rooms are studios with well equipped kitchen facilities, so next time we go we will be taking hot chocolate to make ourselves a nightcap as the hotel bar/resteraunt did seem a bit deserted when we got back to the hotel at 10pm. (We did travel in low season which may explain that). The local resteraunts served some of the best food i have had in ages and the general area is very scenic and lovely to wander around.
