Our stay at the hotel was fine, but its probably not somewhere I would stay again, I felt that the hotel was very overpriced and that really its the location you pay for rather than the hotel. The room was clean. The staff were a little brusque when checking in but were helpful. The bar downstairs is noisy and can be heard from the bedrooms, particularly the bass but if you want somewhere central then this hotel is of an adequate standard.

The room was large and clean. Location was good, very central

There is a nightclub on the ground floor and basement of the hotel which was extremely loud. The walls are also paper thin - need I say more than ahem... noisy neighbours!

This was my second stay at the Arlington and the best review I could give is that for me I will stay there again and it will be my first choice of places to stay right in the centre of Dublin.

Excellent service, again. Checking in was brilliant and the staff were very accommodating. The location of this hotel is fantastic.

No real bad points for this hotel in my opinion.

The hotel has an excellent central location and as long as you are aware of the compromise of the noisy ventilation plant, this hotel will serve any short term traveller very well.

Bedroom looked liked it was recently refurbished to a high standard.
Excellent location.

The en-suite bathroom had not benefitied from the refurbishment as the bathroom. The fitments were old and dated and the bathroom smelt of urine.
The bedroom looked over a flat roof housing all ventilation plant. The droon of the equipment could be heard even with the windows closed.

Okay - But I'm unable to accurately rate versus other hotels in area as I've not stayed in thus far

Proximaty to central dublin

1 - Made to wait 20 min to check into room, even though I checked in @ 1630pm!
2- The room was clean - but it is in need of maintenance (curtain pole hanging off wall, bathroom mirror 'clouded' it needs replacing I could not see myself shaving!

mostly - I would have to say that this is a hotel where location is the key - it was only a short wallk to see so much of Dublin. With Irish dancing at night - and a pub downstairs, and the ability to go to Temple Bar in a few minutes walk, this hotel is a fair deal.
The part I didnt like was - becaue of the time difference between Ireland and the staoes - I booked online. However - if I would have called and spoken to someone to make my reservations, I would have qualified for a free night's stay - they would allow me to have that ppromotion since I booked online - which I saw as a bad goodwill decision on their part. I took up less of their time than a phone booking would have, and I paid more for the pleasure!

Great location - and near to the Temple Bar area. Also - nice to be able to come back for one last Pint - and just walk upstairs to the room!

the rooms ned to be updated a bit. There were also hot sections of the hotel - some hallways were comfpratrtble - while others were blazing hot!

The hotel was buzzing - I had read the blog about it and was prepared with earplugs these were needed as the hotel did not seem to stop until about 4.30am. The hotel will be great when some money is spent on it. The food we had was of a good standard.

The staff were friendly and helpful

The room we stayed in was below standard although we were informed on leaving that the fourth floor was now being renovated.

Hotel is 2 minutes from main O'Connell Street and just across the bridge from the Temple Bar area. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, I had a problem with my room and was moved without any hassle. Breakfast is good, there's a good choice of food from cereal to a cooked breakfast along with tea, coffee and cereals laid on. All in all I'd definitely book here again

We have stayed at this hotel before 3 years ago, but noticed a number of changes which were for the better. Three of the four rooms our group occupied had been upgraded and the bed arrangements varied in each room - 2 singles in 1 room, 2 rooms had doubles and the older room had a King size bed. A choice of rooms /beds would have been better. The restaurant was in a different location which we found better being at the back of the main bar area. It was very well organised, especially at breakfast. Entertainment was very good and the show in the basement was well worth a visit. The meal with the show was also excellent. Overall very good value for money in an ideal location for visiting central Dublin. We would all choose to saty here if we did a return visit.

Our room had been refurbished which gave it a modern feel. It was clean and contained everything we needed.

The smoke alarm kept going off for no reason, which I reported, but it continued to do so each day early morning. The staff responded to this very quickly, checking it was a false alarm. This was reassuring had there been a problem. There were no hotel instructions on how to use the phone for internal calls, contact reception etc. No details of opening times of the restaurant etc. Most hotels have a book in the room with such information.
Malcom from London, GB (Solo business traveller) 06 November 2007
I would have liked a choice of room as I latterly discovered that the hotel was largely empty on the night of my visit. I would also have liked a choice of a 'never been smoked in room' with access via a lift. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room, all other comments aside, was generally clean and spacious with a generous supply of towels and lots of coffee and tea.
(97783879)

The room was a good size with a nice view over the Liffey

The bathroom fan was very noisy, the cold tap on the basin produced only a trickle of water and the room had an odour of stale cigarette smoke pervading it. There was no lift and the room was on the third floor and very noisy throughout the night. Maybe the installation of secondary double glazing would help. I have never liked buffet style breakfasts although I do understand the need to cater for a large number of people in a short time.
