Central to Stratford, good parking and close(ish) to the Theatre

Staff almost non-existant, I was staying with my mother and as we had to leave early the next morning we asked about breakfast. We were told breakfast was served at 8:15am which was too late. The hotel offered us cereal which was acceptable. However, the cereal and milk were left out the previous night so were warm, also there was no juice or even extra Tea or Coffee so we could have a drink with breakfast. The dining area was in darkness and there were no ligh switches so we ended up sharing one sachet of coffee and cereal sat on our bed. Not exactly confortable. The room was OK, however there was no plug to plug the kettle that wasn't floor level so you had to be careful moving past it not to burn yourself. The cleanliness of the room was OK but the towels were a little thin and hard and there were cobwebs in the bathroom. The heating was also a little high.

When booking some confusion as first one came up with no rooms available, then booked this hotel which was confirmed OK, and also the first one then came through as confirmed.........necessitating a phone call to cancell the first booking.

The room and the bathroom both smelled very strongly of paint and the busy traffic in the road made it impossible for us to sleep with the windows open.

Decor and furniture very dated and in places could have done with refurbishing or replacing. As the windows were open traffic noise was evident.
