Went to relax but instead went home exhausted. No apologie for noise on check out, very matter of fact. Surely guests should be informed of hotel functions prior to booking. Worst night ever spent in a hotel, like trying to sleep over a night club. Pity really because it could be a good hotel if better managed and refurbished.

Nice breakfast, helpful breakfast staff. Good position - hotel front overlooking park. Good rear car park.

Check in not very welcoming. Shabby, grubby, parts of staircase narrow and dangerous with no rails. No wardrobe, cupboards or telephone in room, no shelf in bathroom, had to put toiletries on floor and drape clothes around a chair. From 10pm to 3am Divali celebration, loud Indian music accomapnied by shouting and cheering, still drinking in reception at 2.30am.

We were too tired when we arrived to complain, the following day after breakfast we had limited time prior to going to an event that had been planned which meant, that again we did not complain. We arrived home late, and tired, went to bed in the morning we went to breakfast and checked out. We do not intend recommending this hotel to our friends or family.

The location of the hotel was good, although traffic noise was a problem

The general condition of the room, ie smell of tobacco smoke on bedding, the stains and filth on carpet, the grouting in the bathroom. The slow response to requests at breakfast all contributed to us not being able to recommend this hotel to friends or family

Staff was nice and helpful, the 24hr bar and cheap drinks was great.

My room was dull and smelled dirty needs a lick of paint, shower was cold in the evening.

Within easy reach of public transport, shops and restaurants.

Apparently, it has not been refurbished for very very long time. Room and bathroom stuffy.

Easy to park the car, Frendly and helpfull staff, good breakfirst

It's an old hotel and a lot's of things need to be replaced, but you can accept it becourse of the good staff. In a few years it need a lot of repairs.

Inexpensive hotel, but have stayed at better for less money.

Convenient location. Good car park out of sight of main road.

Hot water not always available. Breakfast very slow at being served at the weekend. Dodgy lock on room door.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely, and the room was large and comfortable.

Very friendly staff, good value for money.

Bathroom needed a bit of a facelift, but clean all the same.
lewis from gt yarmouth, GB (Solo leisure traveller) 09 June 2008
adaquate for the purpose of an over night stay for somebody already tired from driving to not wish for anything other than a nights sleep. To me the only saving grace was the excellent breakfast served in the morning.
(97269265)

the reception and general staff were good/excellent

other than the main foyer the general decorative and carpeted area's are in need of a serious look at. even the simpliest things such as grouting and silicon to the bath room area's would give a better appearance to the room's overall appeal. The bed whilst serving its purpose could have done with a newer mattress and even the tv remote was short of a battery and therefore did not operate the tv channel change
Dorothy from Magaliesburg, ZA (Mature couple) 05 June 2008
The hotel was having carpets re-laid on the staircase, which were being cut in the dining room. This probably detracted from its appearance and performance.

Well-prepared hot breakfast. Ample parking behind the hotel was visible from our room.

Mismatched and aging decor. TV was REALLY antiquated but did work.

Got the impression that the Hotel was undergoing some refurbishment.
(97676583)

Helpful Staff, Good Breakfast. Ample Parking.Price was reasonable.

Very noisy fom other guests slamming doors all evening. Wi-Fi internet access not working, TV Remote not working. Radio/Clock/Alarm unit in room not working,Switch on Electric Heater in room faulty. Door to the room did not latch properly (screws coming out of lock keep on wall), Had to jam the room key in between the door and the frame to stop it from banging every time a door on the corridor was opened.

Price is very cheap and despite the problems the hotel is trying to upgrade itself so the value for money could have been worse.
(97634629)

Good sized room and friendly receptionist on arrival.

Bathroom grotty round the edges of the bath and in need of urgent renovation. Chef not there so no meals available. TV in room not working so had to be exchanged for another. Replacement missing the remote control.
