Very good stay - better than expectations

Felt totally at ease as a single woman traveller at this hotel. Staff were friendly, my single room was comfortable and spacious, freshly cooked full English breakfast was excellent. Newspapers available to read in the bar and at breakfast which is always a plus when you are on your own in a hotel.

None really except I was slightly puzzled that there were no obvious instructions in my room on what to do in the event of a fire.

Breakfast was great! Room was very comfortable.

Reception staff not very efficient and had been wrongly booked which seemed to take a long time to sort out.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly place to stay in the area. We will certainly be back.

Nice friendly staff, clean and well-equipped rooms, fantastic food (dinner in the restaurant was superb, and generous breakfast in the conservatory) and overall great value for money as dinner, bed & breakfast came in at around

Check-in took a while as they thought they'd given our double room away, and were about to give us a twin instead (which we wouldn't have been happy with), but it was a mistake and the keys were found. Railway opposite and a few trains came through but the noise wasn't too intrusive, although might disturb light sleepers.

Good choice of food served in separate dining area of pub and also not tied down to set time of eating.

Excellent hotel. Even though we didn't eat in the evening, the food we saw being carted about looked wonderful.

Superb decor, nice airy room with all mod cons.

The cock-up made when booking two singles (2 men) meant we had been booked in a double! However, when dealing with the hotel, the staff dealt with the issue in a prompt efficent manner and we were swapped to a twin room.

I was very impressed with the hotel and the staff, and also the quality of the food.

The rooms were clean, the food was excellent and the service was also excellent.

The only bad point is that the beds are only standard beds, and a little small by modern standards, but that does not detract from the overall quality of the hotel.

very nice clean, modern room which you could tell had been recently re-furbished.

no info was given as to when breakfast was to be served so had to go and ask. Also we were woken up at 6.30am by the binmen as we were round the back, but obviously this was a once a week issue and just happened to coinside with our visit.
