very helpful reception staff with good local knowledge, friendly and polite

there was a damp musty smell as we walked into our room which was coming from the bathroom even though the bathroom was clean. maybe this could be solved with airfreshners. it was a shame as overall the room was lovely. The bar staff were very pleasant but the tables could have done with clearing and wiping a little more promptly. having said this, there was a wedding reception and the staff were understandably busy.

Our room was one floor above the disco and there was a wedding on in the Hotel. We did hear some noise although it was minimal.

The staff are kind and very helpful

When we arrived, we were allocated a room on the 4th floor, where other rooms were being refurbished. The workmen were loud and we heard a couple of them using bad language. On the Saturday morning, the workmen started work at 8.30am, talking loudly, ladders being dragged across the floors, banging. When we left our room, bad language was again being used. Overall this spoilt our stay. We were not warned about this. We did mention it to the receptionist as we checked out who said she would look into it. Not what we expected for a Hilton Hotel.
