Fairly central. Quiet.
Clean room (except as below). Gay-
friendly.

Room could do with a
clean coat of emulsion paint.

This is a very good value hotel, and the breakfast was particularly good value, if you are happy with cereals and toast, etc (for which most places charge you nearer £5). (97234752)
Clean and
comfortable
No
kettle. £1.20 is very expensive for a cup of
tea (especially considering you can drink as much as you like with your
breakfast for £2.90!

Danny from huddersfield, GB (Group of adult friends) 28 January 2008
the hotel was over all a deal and the reception clean and fresh.free parking brilliant and protected. all i have to say is your management need to sort out room cleaners as the marks on the wall could of been removed with soap and water. a bit of pride in their work would of made the stay even better.i called friends who where in the area and they came to stay in the hotel when they saw it and the price. (97367723)

the hotel
reception was very
clean.and the
price was exellent.

the walls in the room could do with a lick of paint and or a good
clean. think that is down to the cleaners who should take more pride in there work.

I was disappointed to find the room had no basic facilities such as tea and coffee making equipment or hairdryer. The room also had little privacy - there was just a walk in shower, small toilet and the sink was located in the bedroom area, however the room was clean and sufficient for an overnight stay. price of the accommodation was very reasonable

The room was
clean apart from the carpet which had not been cleaned properly, it was very dirty around the edges and there were a few screws lying about

Basic is the word but that was all we needed. I was shame about the issues of broke toliet and price change and paying elsewhere for parking (97787968)

The toliet did not I did not report it. The car
park was full so had to pay to
park in sister hotel. Booked on the internet at 35 pounds told it was 38 pound as
price had increased

Ideal for an inexpensive one night stay but would not consider a longer term stay as the rooms lacked character and were far from being a home from home. (99983796)

Useful budget accommodation. No frills, no fuss. (99242925)
Anonymous (Family with young children) 12 March 2007
In general very good. Only problem was the room we were originally allocated had already got some one in it, and so had to go back to check in, which with luggage was a bit of a trek. Also there were problems with the card key, which would not open the door of the room which we had eventually been allocated, so another trip back to reception. Also, insufficient secure car parking at Etap, which either meant parking on road or further trip to ISIS hotel. (99065222)

room was

adequate for a good night's sleep after the journey

would have liked more pillows

This hotel is ideal for young people like myself who are just looking for somewhere to crash after a night out. I was ok as I had a room to myself, but the rooms sleep 3 people so my friens who were sharing didnt like the fact that you didnt have much privacy in the shower (it was in the bedroom with just a glass screen). The beds were comfy but it was hard to sleep much because of the noise from the road and the rest of the hotel. (99735058)

I booked this hotel for one night at the last moment and since it was a cheap and easy solution I did not expect much. I cannot say I was totally dissatisfied, but I do believe the fields mentioned above can be improved within reasonable expenses. The rooms were pretty basic in equipment, but I do not mind that at all, so long as what *is* there is clean and works properly. I was happy with the breakfast offered and the available snacks, but I think it would cost nothing for the staff to smile occasionally and treat the guests as people, not as money bags. I would recommend this hotel to people who travel on a tight budget as it is very conveniently located and vgood value for money, but I would seriously take into consideration the fore mentioned issues. (99282453)

Good
value for money. Room was reasonably sized and fairly
tidy. Very good lighting.
Breakfast was also very good
value (all you can eat for £3. Good
location - 10 minutes walk to the
city centre.

The towels had stains and hairs on and nor did they smell freshly washed; I therefore didn't use them, I had thankfully brought my own.
The mattress on the bed was the worst kind of foam; I know and appreciate it is a budget hotel, but I hardly got any sleep during the night, I would have been better off sleeping on the floor.
Finally, the staff were too impersonal and did not seem particularly organised. I had been waiting for a while before checking in and there was no queue, there were
people who came in after me and got served before me.

For the price, a better than average hotel.
Breakfast could have been a bit more varied, but I suppose we got about £2.95 worth.
Free parking in Brum a plus point. (99312389)

Room
basic, but what we expected. Could not get any heating on in room in what turned out to be a cold night, had to rely on spare duvet to keep warm.

This hotel was very close to the

friendly and
helpful.
Shower was fab!Brilliant
value for money.

The fact that is is so close to the main Bristol Road. We had a front room which was fine except for the fact of the traffic noise! Did require having to go out and buy ear plugs! Wish i had known this for the first nigh sleep!!!!!

The hotel was clean, tidy and very well staffed, the staff were very accomodating especially as we were coming in for a weekend with a 4 year old and didnt know the area. The security was also very good and it was easy to get taxis and make our way tot he city centre which was well sign posted anyway. The hotel was full yet we were not disturbed by any noise at all. it was refreshing to see people enjoying themselves yet using the hotel facilities respectfully and not causing any problems throughout the 24 hour services. I would definately use the hotel again for any other trip. it was also a delight to see all different walks of life and nationalities congregating together after a night out over a cup of coffee being very sociable. (99870446)

it was very
clean,
basic but sufficient and the staff were extremely
helpful,
breakfast was excellent
value for money even at 4 am before our departure. Change of towels and cleaning of room on daily basis and hotel was in excellent position for the theatre, and shopping as swell as restaurants.
Free phone taxi service also was very good.
