Rooms were
quiet. Beds were comfortable. Facilities were very clean.

Parking lot is very small, only three spaces. We were fortunate to be able to double-park behind another guest's car.

We had a very enjoyable stay and the couple that ran it were very helpful with information. Lots of facilities provided for the guests (internet access etc). (97685505)

Very
nice people and helpful. We had a problem with toilet but they offered us a new room.

The Allison manages to create an atmosphere of quiet charm very close to the heart of Edinburgh. Given today's lodging rates in Scotland, it is a real bargain. (99657450)

Excellent location on
bus route, ten minutes to City Center; attractive large rooms,
friendly staff, free internet access.

The hotel is a good 20 minute bus ride from town. Buses are frequent and cheap. (99680492)

Reasonable sized room and big bed

Bathroom. Much too small. Extractor fan didn't work.

A nice friendly hotel with very nice rooms. TV and DVD player, kettle, trouser press etc. Plenty of room, well furnished and very relaxing. The garden to the rear is beautiful both day and night and Arthurs Seat in the background.
The only down side is the hotel is on three floors and no lift that I am aware of.
Otherwise a place I will be staying again (99419505)

good quality room with everything I needed.

Convenient for the Commonwealth Pool and the No.31
bus to Murrayfield; good breakfast;
quiet
Window wouldn't open and extractor in shower room not working, so a bit steamy and some mould on window frame; bedspread and sofa stained.

I'd certainly go back here if ever in Edinburgh again - either on business or with family.
The owners were welcoming, offered useful tips on where to eat and were able to accommodate my request to stay in the room for an extra hour on the morning of departure. The hotel is warm and friendly, has character (and parking!) and is handy for the centre of Edinburgh. (99507911)
Friendly staff, lovely touch to find a welcome drink of sherry / whisky in the room! Great breakfast- especially the fresh fruit - wonderful!

Nothing to actively dislike - just a couple of details I'd have liked to mention on a feedback form - but I didn't see one in the room
