I was happy with the hotel and i will consider going back again.
(107438008)

Within walking distance of Queensway Tube, Bayswater Tube, Paddington Tube and Paddington rail also within walking distance of Marbel Arch and Oxford Street. (15 min brisk walk). Rooms were very warm.

The only one fault I found with the hotel is the carpet in the Bedroom could do with a shampood. Other than that i have no complaints with the Henry Viii for a short break.

If the rooms had been cheaper then the hotel would have been adequate. For the size of the rooms though the price was too much.
(107409710)

The rooms were very small, barely enough space to walk around the bed.

This really is a 3* hotel, if that. Whilst the rooms are well-fitted out (ironing board, hairdryer etc), there isn't much else positive to say. No services at all - no laundry service, no room service (other than horrible soggy sandwiches!). Breakfast a bit dodgy - at least the hot bits. And maintainance levels very low - TVs not properly tuned, dodgy phone lines, very variable hot water supply. I think it was clean though. All very odd. And I think that is why it is relatively cheap.

Bedroom well-fitted out

Poor order of facilities, no reasonable room service/restaurant

trainee at desk was not as pleasant as your established desk clerks who were great and able to get me into my room early.

Although the location was excellent for our purposes and the hotel public areas were pleasant, our room was very small and backed onto the lift. The lift was noisy and the sound of the underground just outside was intrusive.
The shower cubicle doors were hanging off and the towels smelt as if they had been used before.
The staff were friendly and helpful, but the room itself put us off the hotel. We felt that it was not good value for money.

The pre-booked taxi from the hotel was almost double the price of a black taxi from outside. |
The room had stained carpet, wallpaper and was far to hot.

There is no way that The Henry VIII should be classified as a 4 star hotel, probably a 2 star one if the rooms were used as the criteria. The main areas were better, but again not 4 star quality. The breakfast was adequate, but badly laid out.
I alos found the hotel difficult to locate, I walked passed it twice.
(99609906)

Reception looked nice. The price was very cheap

The room was cramped, hot and noisy. There was only a fan, the A/C was not working. The window overlooked the underground trainline (which unfortunately wasn't underground. Whilst staying alone, I did book a double room, I hate to think what a single room was like. The shower room (note not a bathroom) again was cramped although relatively clean.

Very priceworthy 4-star-hotel conveniently located at Bayswater
(99836230)

Very priceworthy, hotel and room very convenient

Breakfast was not 4-star at all, choice of TV programmes was poor
Anonymous (Family with young children) 21 December 2006
This is NOT a four star hotel. The only commendable part of it was the nice staff welcome. And breakfast too. The rest was pitiful. The room looked like the joke of a room. And the sudden increase in price was a shock, to say the least.
(99396961)

Check in

Poor room. Had to pay more than agreed. 400 instead of 300 pounds three nights. Only explanation: the hotel is full, take it or leave it.
