After reading the review posted by others I was a little dubious about what I'd let myself in for, but the staff were first class (especially the male receptionist, well mannered and very polite!A rarity these days) the room adequate, everything worked and I had was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of parking, clean room with good facilities. I had breakfast and dinner elsewhere and therofre cannot comment on the food. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a good hotel for the money. The hotel should consider offering FREE internet access as this is often sought after by solo travellers and can very often make the difference in choosing between similar hotels. (107242187)

Value for what I paid but more attention to the general area's would help give a better / more positive outlook on the whole hotel, tables in the bar were not cleaned properly and attention to clean cups / plates wasn't great, I left a table for 1.5 hours and on returning to the bar my original table still had my cups / plates on it..... but I'm sure this will be sorted out soon if the positive attitude of the staff is anything to go by (107299511)

We booked two rooms non smoking, registration form stated smoking, when I enquired I was assured that both rooms were non smoking, also one room was required to have an extra bed, when I enquired I was told there should be, there wasn't and there wasn't any room for a third bed. They were moved to a family room (non smoking). The following day we requested a move and were told that the no smoking rooms had been requested by incoming guests we tried to explain that we requested non smoking and didn't get it. We were then sent to see a room on the 1st floor which we discovered was a smoking room eventually lady who was taking us to see the room organised a non smoking room for us

non smoking room stank of smoke, quite shabby in parts, bed linen poor stained and torn in parts.

Overall I had a very satisfying stay, finding my room to be comfortable, clean and well serviced, finding the staff generally very helpful and to my surprise finding an extensive and varied continental breakfast available each day.(how can people eat those English breakfasts each day and yet clearly most people do). My sole complaint was the lack of car parking space available when returning late to the hotel on the nights when a wedding reception or similar was taking place. (3304728373)

Lack of car parking when returning late at night when a wedding reception or other event was taking place. Potholes in asphalt and some of the public areas were looking a little run down/dowdy. One day failure to service my room and one day failure to have newspaper available.
