Self serve continetal breakfast or full english breakfast was well cooked and served, ample servings. Friendly staff. This was the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel and have enjoyed the hotel facilities, including the cocktail bar and sports TV in the past.

The first room we were given was too small, it was also on the fourth floor. We are both in our seventies and had to drag our suitcases up to the fourth floor as no-one was available to help us. There is no lift. There was no room to move between beds and wardrobes, but when we complained we were given a larger room, without being charged extra. The bedside lamp needed a bulb, despite requesting a new one three times it was only fitted as we were leaving. We stayed 2 nights and the room was not serviced at all. We had 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets only. We also left a hat in the wardrobe on the shelf, which we never got back even though we phoned the hotel before we reached home to advise that we had left it behind. We were asked to callback and we did three times without success. Bar was never open when we checked, which was very dissapointing.

there was no adequate room supplies for the tea ,coffee.Very poor break fast.toast and jam butter is not an English breakfast. only 2 bath towels for 4 people.I prefer to use a fresh toilet roll rather than a left overone because we don't know how others handled it.

Double room was ordered but a twin was given and was of very poor standard, replacement that was offered was even worest than the one that was given. Was billed the wrong amount at check-in and was then locked out of the room.

There was no heating in the room. It was freezing cold. The heater provided was not working and the central heating was off despite the cold. The tiles in the bathroom were coming off under my feet and it seemed they were laid down by an amateur. I also did not like the smell in the room.

I knew this hotel before I booked, as I lived in the area some years ago. On the whole I found the staff helpful and polite. There was a wedding party being held there, but this did not afect us, the music was discontinued at midnight. We returned to the hotel on Saturday night at 9.45pm, having been away all day visiting family. I was a little disconcerted to be told by the girl who served me in the bar that I would have to finish my cappuccino and be out of the bar as it would be closing in 7 minutes? When I asked where I could go to finish my drink, she pointed to a room opposite. However when I tried the door it was locked, so I finished my drink in reception. the furniture and fittings were of a good standard, the beds were firm and to my liking. Although not new and modern furniture it was a n acceptable standard.

We were in room 202, and there was a connecting door in the room to another room - 209. We were able to hear the guests in 209 chatting etc., which fazed us a bit at first, but we just put th TV on and that solved the problem.
