Guest reviews of the Park Hotel - Guesthouse

Good
Elayne from Montrose, GB (Family with young children) 21 June 2008

Apart from the bad points above, I found the hotel very conveniently placed, near to the station, bus stop and shops. The park opposite the hotel further adds to the impression of space and tranquility. (97289242)

positive comments Quiet and peaceful. Food tastefully presented. Staff friendly and polite
negative comments Fried food a bit oily. Bed uncomfortable and pillows ver thin.

The hotel is about a mile from Gants Hill tube station in Ilford London. It is difficult to know in which direction to go when you come out of the tube station as everything is badly signposted. However there is a decent bus service to and from the hotel. There is a stop right outside that will take you back to Gants Hill station. The hotel is situated in two buildings, one behind the other. I stayed in the back building which had the appearance of a dormitory block. The rooms seemed spacious and reasonably clean but they had also not been decorated in some time and the bedding was atrocious - The mattress was long past retirement with distorted and sometimes flattened springs. Certainly not condusive to a good nights sleep. The breakfast was fairly reasonable. consisting of the usual fare although I did have the novel privelage of eating raw salad style tomatoes with my english breakfast. The Eastern European staff were friendly and poite if not quite fluent in English. (97479614)

positive comments The room was a good size and relatively clean. Relatively quiet. The breakfast was reasonable.
negative comments The room smelt of cigarette smoke. The matress was bumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. The en suite looked old and jaded. The decor was old and dirty.
