For a slightly higher amount I could have stayed in a far better hotel. Next time I will choose to do this. The Club desk which was highlighted on the internet was unmanned and the bathrobes which were requested never surfaced. (107217998)

positive comments The reception staff was very friendly and efficient
negative comments The room was very small, really should be a single not a twin. When running the water in the bath or flushing the toilet the pipes made an horrendous noise. The bathroom was very small and claustrophobic. The facilities in the room were very poor. Some staff could not speak English!

was excellently located for our needs helpfull staff room was very clean (107248578)

positive comments Good location close to lots of areas and POI
negative comments Room was qiute small for a double "Club" very dark. Some public areas were a litttle tired looking. Our room looked recently re furbished so could be a work in progress thoughout the hotel?

very satisfied (107107794)

positive comments excellent location, upgraded free of charge to a club room.
negative comments room quite small and feel view could be improved by painting and decoration of the outside buildings and overlooked roof. room very hot, air con would be very apreciated.

I would have like to see, in plain view, access, or direction to an access ramp to pull my wheeled luggage to the check-in desk and larger sign with directions to the check-in desk. The hotel was very nice with an excellent location, especially since I had luggage and the Covent Garden tube station has a lift to street level. That was a great help with my luggage. (97937894)

positive comments The location
negative comments Can not think of anything I could say I did not like.

positive comments Everything about the room was clean, the TV screen modern, the shower worked, offers for discounts at the restaurant, good value evening meal, quiet room
negative comments That I had to wait in the queue for checking in, overlooking the back of grey buildings occupied by pigeons (but there was a nice wooden screening/shutter at the window, which I used)

We enjoyed our visit and after stopping in numerous other London hotels we would certainly book the Strand Palace for future one night stays. However for a longer stay we would be looking for a slightly larger room than the one we was allocated. (99560146)

positive comments The location of the hotel and the efficiency of the reception staff after some bad experiences with other central London hotels.

Good hotel close to underground and shops - covent garden etc. fulfills basic needs of traveller with accomodation, however, food service is excellent both in the carvery restaurant and through room service. (99351204)

positive comments Staff in restaurant were very welcoming and friendly.
negative comments Lack of concierge after 9:00pm resulted in having to ask front desk staff for help and receiving unsatisfactory service.

A good all round hotel which I will use again (3305228895)

positive comments good location, good facilities, good standard
negative comments The lines needed cleaning on the Worthingtons Bitter, I was informed, when I returned a cloudy pint that a new barrel had only just gone on which can only mean one thing, LAZY BAR STAFF

Good location, between three tube stops (Covent Garden, Embankment and ...hmm, what was that other one...can't be bothered to look!) Hotel was clean, quiet, despite the fact I had a window in the courtyard. No air-con in rooms, so the fact I was there on the hottest day ever in London made it seem a bit sweatier than it normally would be. But then, there was that nice shower I mentioned! Concierge was very enthusiastic dealing with silly visitor questions and he saved me a few pounds so I can easily forgive him for a slight error in his information. Building was clean, well maintained and I had not reason to be dissatisfied with anything other than the minor issues I have already mentioned. (3305046727)

positive comments The shower had great water pressure...unlike a lot of European hotels! Room was very small (again, very European) but totally adequate for a solo business traveller who basically just sleeps there.
negative comments The international phone rates were ridiculous (seven pounds per minute to call Canada using a credit card!) and there is even a note attached to the phone saying this was good value compared to other hotels :(

We wanted a hotel near to covent garden for a last min decision over night stay. This hotel was ideal as it is right on the strand and within walking distance covent garden. The hotel was a little dated but even so met our needs and was very comfortable. (3304621632)

positive comments Very good location, within walking distance of alot of bars/pubs/restaurants. Very comfortable
negative comments Hotel was a bit dated but still met our needs for the one night - wouldnt want to stay there for a week though

The location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing and theatre going as it is in walking distance of Leicester Square, the underground is just a 5 minute walk. (3304058576)

positive comments The room was a good size and the interior and furniture in good condition. Only problem we found was the noise from the traffic as we were at the front of the hotel.
negative comments We had no occassion to think this
