The picture rails and skirtings have never been dusted and the radiator was hangiing off the wall.
(107141407)

When checking in we were practically ignored due to a group having an arguement with them over a cot being booked and not avialable (so now where else to go with very young baby.
Asked for my credit card which I said I would sign and collect on my way out for the evening as they were busy with these other guests.
They persistantly called the room when I was getting ready asking me to go down and sign.
There was no hot water available until 7pm and only a trickle and only one towel for two guests!

Convenient location.

Extremely rude and untrained staff. e.g. I was at told at check-in breakfast was served 7-9 a.m. I arrived at breakfast at 8:50 a.m. and the staff looked very displeased, making a point of turning off the lights in the serving area, half pulling down the shutter, etc. When I greeted the staff with "good morning", she looked sulkily away and did not return my greeting. Cleaning staff talking loudly in the corridors and generally making a racket. Cleaning staff kept banging on my door from 10:30 a.m. onwards telling me to check out. This happened several times. I did not feel like a customer being served. It felt like I was making a real nuisance of myself and she's doing me a great favour, even though I was meant to check out by 11 a.m. If I was at a charity shelter it would have been more understandable. A hotel is supposed to be hospitable, and I have never been so badly treated by hotel staff and I travel a lot.

As above, booked with friends but our rooms were three flights apart. Would have liked to have known that it was a substandard hotel. It also appeared dangerous, light fitting burnt and broken, friends room the light although connected to electric moved around. Also the hairdryer in our room was cracked and broken although it still worked.

Location

It was dirty, shower didn't work properly, no batteries in remote, no control on radiator so room was too hot, no sugar with tea coffee making facilities, no lamp shades, inadequate breakfast, blood in the bathroom, room not made up for second night stay even though we were out from 10.00am till 4.30. Window didnt work properly, bear cans under the bed, used shower gel satchets in shower etc

It was okay as a place to crash for 1 night and a quick breakfast in the morning, which was our plan.

The bathroom could have been cleaner and in better working order. The walls are very thin and could hear flight path but did manage to sleep.

it was overall a poorly run, shabby overpriced hotel. breakfast consisted off dry toast or cornflakes with no milk!! 4 of us shared a room as they 'misplaced' our booking confirmation from 3 months ago! this was not a 1 off as the queue for 'complaints' exceeded 4 guests when we arrived. tried to palm us off to their staff house to keep us happy - it was full off duty staff continuing with their normal routine we were mortified.

Close to Clapham south tube station

The lack of organization, we booked and confirmed 3 months ago, arrived and no room! we had to share 1 room, it was dirty and kettle-shower-and tv didnt work. Double bed was 2 singles pushed together. it was a total sham.

Great value - no frills, perfect as a place to stay for one or two nights.
(99223013)

Cheap, clean and close to underground station - great views of the common from our room.

Decor a bit dated, but a minor detail considering the amazing price of the room.

This was a depressing experience that I shall not be repeating. The room was smaller than our bathroom at home, and the state of repair of everything was poor. No drawer space other than the small one in the bedside cabinet. No chair or any spare surface to put anything.
How bizarre is it to have the bed light for reading at the foot of the bed?
No plug in the washbasin made shaving tricky. The temperature of the room was low and the radiator valve was difficult to get to go on.
Breakfast was a DIY affair, Cornflakes as the only cereal and economy loaf from Tesco's the only bread. Instant coffee.
(99796964)

Small room, no plug in bathroom sink, radiator valve difficult to get to work, bed light at foot of bed not head!! Electrical equipment out of safety test by several years. Poor state of decoration, fire doors propped open.

The hotel was a little bit tatty round the edges but overall was clean & tidy, would have liked to have known about the parking before hand, the parking cost a fortune as I had to park in the side streets which have a 4 hour stay limit when the daytime parking regulations are in force, you then have to get up earlier to come out & put more money in the machine in time for the regulations to start again (

I found the information and pictures of this hotel advertised on the web site to be quite misleading. The actual hotel did not bear much resemblance to that advertised.

Nice clean bed linen.

Very basic breakfast of fruit juice, cornflakes and toast & jam. No choice. TV not tuned.

Alan from Mexico, Mexico;MX (Family with older children) 02 August 2006
The hotel was perfectly adequate for our needs, it is close to public transport and the family accommodation was very spacious for the price we paid. The breakfast was basic but the staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a family with older children - the first stay we had a two bedroom flat and the second we had a three bedroom flat with three bathrooms!
(3304897135)

As a family of four it is difficult to find accommodation at a reasonable price in London. This hotel offered spacious family suites at very reasonable rates.

A lack of attention to detail.
