Lovely stay for a short get away break. Close to Bury St Edmunds for a nice day out on a wet day!
(107695637)

Fabulous food, lovely location, very hospitable and loved the Molton Brown products!
Denise from Telford, GB (Mature couple) 15 October 2008
The White Horse is in a lovely village of Beyton about 4 miles from Bury St Edmunds, it was very quiet even when the pub was quite full on the Fri & Sat nights & the A14 is quite close. The breakfasts are excellent very well cooked- one of the best we've had, and we have had a few!!
(107788433)

The quality and cleanliness of the hotel(rooms) was very good, made even better with the addition of Molton Brown products and nice white thick fluffy towels..great!!

Not really major..but the bed (double) was a bit small, however we do have a super king-size bed at home, so that was okay. It was comfortable though!!
The pub could do with a bit a makeover to equal the quality of the rooms.
Andrew from Lichfield, GB (Mature couple) 29 September 2008
Very enjoyable two day break
(107166525)

Impressed with accommodation and excellent breakfast.

Felt bar drinks slightly excessive in price.

Room was really clean and spacious, nice bathroom, great shower. Friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice and quiet.
Anonymous (Young couple) 09 September 2008
I'd recommend staying here to anyone in the area and we would definitely book a room here if we were in the area again.
(107276014)

The room was a good size and furnished to a standard you'd expect of a 4-star hotel in a big city. There were some nice touches which didn't have to be there, but it added to the good feeling that they were - the ironing board, the water bottles refreshed, the quality of biscuits and soaps and the free internet access. And the food in the inn was excellent, a table booked for us for the evening meal - and with a huge, filling breakfast in the price of the room, which isn't usually the case in big cities!
Peter from Erftstadt, DE (Solo leisure traveller) 04 September 2008
sehr empfehlenswert. value for money. bestes Badezimmer, das ich in England jemals erlebt habe.
(108031016)

geraeumiges Zimmer, frisch renoviert, extrem sauber, Badezimmer und insbesondere Dusche aussergewoehnlich gut. Hervorragende Parkmoeglichkeiten.

Im Pub / Fruehstuecksraum unangenehm warm.

very relaxed and ideal base for a family wedding
(108045703)

spacious, clean rooms. well appointed bathrooms plus the use of a pleasant garden right outside the door and car parking visible beyond. good access would suit less-able guests. Easy travel to nearby Bury-st-Edmunds

expect noise from the pub customers at weekends

Excellent, friendly service. Good food at dinner (we were a party of 9) and the breakfast was very good, especially the choices of fruit and delicious local bacon. Thank you.

(108076819)

Far above average service in terms of friendliness with good pub food on tap. Excellent facilities in the rooms, including free internet connection - simple but comfortable and everything in the bathroom worked perfectly! This is a pub with six rooms in a converted barn in a charming village with some nice local walks - I would recommend The White Horse to anyone.
paul from New Milton, GB (Solo business traveller) 05 July 2008
The White Horse is well organised and well run. Everything works and is in the right place. Good service, a wide range of well made & presented meals, and well kept real ales make this one of the best hotels of its type.

(97928089)

great food, great beds, great shower, very clean and a very spacious room, seperate from the pub in a completely refurbished old barn
Anonymous (Mature couple) 23 June 2008
I got the impression that staff try very hard - the rooms are impressive and standard of cleanliness very high. They also make an effort to provide a good breakfast with excellent service. Apart from niggly things detailed above we enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.
(97769087)

Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and well equipped. Bed was comfortable, very good breakfast and friendly staff.

Two lights did not work, neither did the TV remote control. At one time I couldn't get the TV to work at all.
Iain from Liverpool, GB (Mature couple) 18 June 2008
Overall an excellent venue in a picturesque village near to the A14.
(97451073)

The rooms are separate from the main building and noise is minimal
The breakfasts are of excellent quality and quantity
Plenty of parking space

Friendliness of staff
Reasonable food

As an OAP+ the price hurts - but we stayed at other Inns with the same price range -but it still hurts!!!!!!

We found the whole experiance, from booking on line to leaving our key after our stay, to be completely stress free. We had breakfast included in our stay which was a wonderful meal. We did not feel hungry for the rest of the day! I would recommend The White Horse at Beyton to any of our friends or family visiting the area.
(97809202)

We liked the homely feel of the room and also the spaciousness. It was a very comfortable room

The only thing I disliked was the bed was a little hard for me, but this did not bother my husband one bit!!
Carol from Sunderland, GB (Other) 14 May 2008
The accommodation is lovely, it has a very fresh feel about it and I thought the provision of Molton & Brown toiletries a thoughtful and generous extra particularly at these very good value for money prices. The grassed patio area was particularly pleasant on such a wonderful sunny day, its a pity we had an event we had to go to and were unable to stay on for another day
(97704657)

high standards of cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 08 May 2008
When booking try to arrange an arrival and departure time, other than that the cleanliness of the room/facilities were first class and all meals were wholesome/homemade good food.
Will stay again.
(97024856)

Cleanliness of the room , food very good.

The pub was locked on arrival and departure, which made things a little tricky when booking in and checking out.
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 07 May 2008
I would gladly stay there again in preference to the big chain hotels.
(97186079)

Very friendly staff, excellent food, very clean.
Pleasant rural surroundings.

Minor point but the pc network cable was a bit on the short side, but the network access was free!
Anonymous (Solo leisure traveller) 29 April 2008
A pleasant surprise.
(97769490)

The room, and particularly the bathroom, was outstanding for this type of small hotel, and put many far more expensive rooms to shame. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was again far superior to that provided by more expensive hotels.

The food served in the evening was mediocre, but at least was not overpriced

Alan from Houghton-le-Spring, GB (Mature couple) 05 January 2008
The hotel is easy to find from the A14 and there is ample car parking. Rooms are well appointed with separate access from car park. Food is good quality and menu nicely varied. Staff friendly and helpful.
(97285879)

All usual facilities were available and in good order. It was good to have a separate front door.

No protection from rain when entering the room.

A traditional Suffolk village pub with accomodation in a separate block adjoining the premises - very peaceful and comfortable. We stayed in winter and the heating worked perfectly. The room was spacious, clean, with thoughtful additional extras and the food provided in the pub was lovely, both at dinner and breakfast. Would happily recommend the White Horse to anyone for just an over night stay or as a base to explore the Suffolk countryside as the accomodation is so good - they also provide a free internet access.
(97477231)

Very Spacious accomodation, lovely bathroom, hairdryer etc provided as standard and did not have to ask in advance, comfortable bed and good reception on TV - even able to get channel 5!
Anonymous (Group of adult friends) 05 December 2007
This stay was worth every penny. The accomodation was excellent, the cleanliness of the rooms was particularly good. The accomodation block in the former stables meant that there was easy access without having to go into the pub and it was all on the level. A short walk to the car. Staff were friendly and polite and nithing seemed to myuch trouble. Food was of good quality and reasonably priced.

An attractive inn with six ensuite rooms in a converted stable. Good parking. Our room was spacious, well equipped, clean and in good condition. Bathroom was excellent. Very good breakfast, friendly, efficient service. Good value for money. Would certainly stay there again. Attractive village, well situated for Bury st. Edmunds.

William from Horsham, GB (Mature couple) 27 September 2007
The well planned accommodation is separate from the hotel in a new neat terrace block fronted by a grassed area. The rooms are of adequate size with en suite, and are beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. The food in the hotel is of a high standard, and the breakfasts are very generous, of a good choice, and scrumptious. Friendly staff, good value.
