Welcoming staff. Good facilities in room e.g. tv, sweets, tea, coffee, biscuit, hot chocolate.
Nice bathroom, good shower. Good

Door did not lock.
Breakfast tables could have been cleaner.

rather expensive for level of accomodation. (97006832)

On the whole we had an enjoyable stay and we were made to very welcombe. On the down side tghe room hadn't been hoovered before we arrived and it would have been handy to have a few more power sockets available. We both felt that £70.00 was a little over the top but all in all we would happily recommend the hotel to others. (97304797)

The hotel was easy to find and everyone was very freindly and
helpful.
Anonymous (Solo business traveller) 21 November 2007
Generally I was happy with being able to book on line at short notice. The room felt rather uncared for however and could have done with a refurbishment, a closed wardrobe, wires ducted away etc. On the plus side, the hosts were pleasant and helpful. (97469168)

Plenty of hot water; convenient for
town centre.

Heating only just adequate on a cold night; curtains did not draw properly and needed extra hooks;
bathroom ceiling in poor repair; bedroom
door only lightly secured at night.

The hotel looks charming at first glance but when there it has a look and feel of needing refurbishing. Old noisy toilets, door springs, floor boards etc. It is in an excelent location and the service was efficient and friendly, if left to continue in the way it is I feel buisness could be lost. Nice friendly hotel very close to town. Helpful, cheery owners, and good breakfasts. Rooms were fine but needed cheering up a bit, but we did understand that a refurbishment program was underway to bring the hotel upto 3* rating. (99998674)

Closeness to
town and warm
welcome from proprieter.

A
little tired, but other rooms had been refurbished and more were to follow.

The hotel is well run with the people running it very helpful and accomodating. The food was very good and the service excellent. In addition it is well located for the center of Newmarket, while not in the town itself. (99345068)

Some areas of the hotel appeared to need more renovation however this was explained in the
welcome pack

My husband and I stayed only one night and from our point of view we could not fault it. The breakfast was included in the price and it was more than adequate, we also had evening dinner and that also was very nicely cooked and very reasonably priced. All in all we enjoyed our overnight stay and would book the hotel again. (99863201)

The staff service was excellent. The hotel food was cooked to order and was exactly what was needed after battling transportation all day. If your staying eat in the hotel you dont need to go anywhere else. They will even cook whatever you want (as long as the ingrediants are available. (99645947)

It was acceptable for the purpose. The staff were nice and good host at breakfst time. Thank you for your hospitality. (3304745199)

The room wss comparable to some other hotels.

The carpet could do with hoovering a bit. I am aware that even the big hotels like Hiltons and
Best an Westerns do not hoover the rooms either on regular basis.
Simon from Newcastle-under-Lyme,, United Kingdom;GB (Solo business traveller) 10 June 2006
Good stay, nice hotel, good staff. Hotel seemed rather 1970s, and in other locations would have cost half the price per night, but very comfortable. I would not stay there for leisure purposes, but for an overnight business trip it was fine. Glad it was the company paying though. (3304816041)

Good staff attitudes and very
friendly.

Outdated
decor especially carpets. Shower only produced (very) cold water/

In a quiet location of the town which was excellent for us. The owner supplied transport to go to our function in the town in the evening foc, which was an excellent idea. The only meal we had was breakfast, which was freshly cooked to our individual requirements, and was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a hotel for a long time. (3304576888)

A lovely place, we didn't see the owners who were away but the gentleman in loco took great care of us. The room we had was large, clean and the bed was massive which was lovely. We were a bit surprised that the bar in the hotel was not open until 5pm but a short walk into town took care of that! We ate out (an excellent Chinese in the Rookery, the owner of which even drove us back to the hotel after our meal as it was raining!) but returned to the bar and a very friendly reception. Unfortunately we didn't check the breakfast time and were late arriving after 9am ... but despite that a cooked breakfast was rustled up and was very nice. We would stay there again quite happily. EXCELLENT POSITION, STAFF WERE OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO IMPROVE THE HOTEL AND WHERE
FRIENDLY AND POLITE.

VERY OUTDATED, AND WAS NOT THE CLEANEST EITHER. BUT GIVE THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, A LOT OF ROOMS HAVE BEEN UPDATED BUT NOT THE ONE WE STAYED IN. BUT I CAN NOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE WE BOOKED AT SHORT NOTICE AND WHERE GLAD TO GET A ROOM. I THOUGHT THAT £95 FOR THE ROOM WAS HIGH.
ANDREW from GAINSBOROUGH, United Kingdom;GB (Solo leisure traveller) 08 July 2005
Good location near the town centre, very pleasant helpful staff. The place had a bit of a slightly dated feel to it(seventies)but my room was very spacious and a comfortable bed.The breakfast was plentiful and of a reasonable standard.Overall reasonable place to stay and would stay again when in the area. Perfect personal service.
Spacious, pretty room with comfortable bed and furniture.
Bar in the hotel open for outside guests.
Parking space right in front of the hotel.
Quiet corner of town but very close to towncenter (walking distance). (2325213)
