do not be fooled by the pictures on the website, the hotel itself is appalling, i am surprised health and safety have not closed it down!!! the stairs, the creaking floorboards, exit signs, fire extinguishers, the sink in the bathroom is way too small, there is no thermostatic regulator on the taps and the water is scalding hot!!!!

On entering our room and discovering the state of it I called reception straight away to ask if i could pay to upgrade room, i was met with a VERY hostile and immediately defensive receptonist who literally spat at me the words 'whats wrong with your room then' I went on to explain the problem but gave up when I found her tone very aggressive and rude. I couldnt really understand her attitude though as we where not asking for a free upgrade, we were more than happy to pay extra. We ended up spending as much time as we could in the hotel garden rather than in our room as the room was so hot and stuffy. The bathroom was so disgusting that I couldnt bear to be in it and certainly couldnt bring myself to shower there!, I certainly would not go back or recommend this hotel to anyone. tiny room, very hot and stuffy with mould all over bathroom(including the ceiling), ripped carpet, scuffed walls, socket too far away from mirror (only 1 socket worked), very old tatty furniture. unapprochable staff!

This hotel was unfortunately not what we expected. The staff to their credit were very helpful but the room (3rd flr) myself and my wife occupied was very hot and stank of cigarettes. The stair carpet leading from the hall up to our room was filthy. We did not use the dining room for breakfast rather choosing to leave as soon as possible.If we had arrived earlier in the evening I would not have stayed there and looked for another hotel. Good value

There was nowhere nearby to eat after 9.00pm and the hotel did not serve food in the evening. Noisy road outside, may not have been a problem but it was a hot night and needed the window open. Free secure car parking was much appreciated. Although the hotel was shabby in parts the room, bed and towels were clean. Annoying that no one had checked the lights and the main light in the room had no light bulb. Breakfast room was pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. Overall good value for the price with very pleasant staff. (3304935771)

The hotel was as described by previous reviews and very easy to find. The building was clean and tidy with excellent friendly staff. The secure parking is a major bonus here!!! The reception area sold cold drinks/snacks which was handy although there is a great pub 'The Wheatsheaf' 5 mins down the road which sold very reasonable, tasty, great choice of food! Worth a visit! You've got banks and newsagents 2 mins away also. Our room was small but as we were only staying overnight it didn't matter and we did note that other rooms were bigger.I would definately stay again. Secure Carpark, breakfast included in price

Walls on the stairway had some scuff marks and firedoor to the corridor banged, the bathroom could have dome with some neat finishing off at the tilework and there was some mildew visable above the bathroom window.

Nice and close to Croydon station. OK overall - if you just want somewhere to sleep and not for a special occasion. Clean, everything worked ok. We had to miss breakfast but staff were very accomodating and made us a take-away sandwich - which was great customer service. (2922092)
