Helpful staff, good food

Very noisy room, loud dronning noise kept me awake all night. There was a view of a wall about two foot from the window. Loose tile on the bathroom floor.
Rosemary from Bury St Edmunds, GB (Mature couple) 05 August 2008
Best room we have ever had. Worth the price. Would come again even though it was very expensive for us.
(108064006)

Fantastic spacious room, lovely views, very comfortable beds, very nice bathroom.

Breakfast disappointing because did not seem to have been freshly cooked - seemed to have been kept hot for a while and only the egg freshly cooked. The weather was not very hot but the stairway and ground floor loo were stifling.

We found everything about the hotel very good. The outlook over the quay is appealing. Reminded me of my visit to Nice. Have booked a further visit as there are so many things to do in Ipswich.

Smart, spacious room with interesting features.

The view from the window was not the best of the harbour.

The hotel staff were friendly and the room was great, however, I would have liked to have known you offered wireless internet access so I could have brought a laptop.
I would have liked the room to have contained a fridge and also a safe for valuable items rather than having to store them in the hotel safe.
I would also have liked not to have been charged for wireless access even though I didn't know it was available until the bill was presented to me.

The directions to the hotel were spot on, parking and check-in without problem. The room was great and in the evening we had a drink in the lounge which was nice and relaxing. We did not eat in the Brasserie because a, it was very noisy and b, rather expensive. Within walking distance to the town centre is an excellent pub with very good food for good value. Breakfast was a bid disappointing, for the price that is being charged the portion was rather small.

Upon reserving the hotel I had requested a room with a harbour view which we got. The room was spacious and the bathroom fabulous.

On check-in, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful, a great first impression of the hotel. Although the lift was not in use (these things happen) we were lucky enough to find our room was only on the first floor! The room itself (a Standard) was lovely. A modern spacious bathroom, a well decorated bedroom with quality furnishings and plenty of lighting to suit your mood. Although our stay was in a wet, dreary February, the view of the quay was also a very pleasant one. A standard room but, as I think it mentions on the hotel's web site, it was anything but standard. While we didn

The reception area is very cool and stylish. Up to the bedrooms and the standard does not drop. The attention to detail throughout is impressive. The bathroom was perfect with a really powerful shower. The bedroom was very spacious, with great view and very comfortable bed. We had our dinner and breakfast in our room and both times the food was fantastic. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. In fact, we can't wait to come again and think that you'd be hard pushed to find this quality at these rates anywhere else.

The style of the hotel is laid back but very modern and chic. It has a lovely inviting atmosphere and all you could need for a really relaxing night.
Anonymous (Mature couple) 07 February 2007
To be told that the restaurant was being used for a private function and that we could have room service! Daily updates on the web site or when booking on line should have made us aware. Despite this we had a fantastic meal at Loch Fyne.

Fresh, contemporary style. Bathroom very clean.

It was a little disappointing that there was so much noise - people in corridors were clearly audible as were banging of room doors and the footsteps of guests in the room above ours. A little more attention to sound proofing would take this from a good to an outstanding hotel as all other elements were well done, but that is somewhat spoilt by a poor nights sleep.

Nothing more to add to what I've put above. We took advantage of an offer deal and it was a fabulous stay - I hope we'll get a chance to visit again. Thank you!
(3305275329)

The view from the window, the breakfast, the china mugs, the DVD library - and the chocolate pud that was on offer the night we were there. Also the fact that no-one batted an eyelid that as a same sex couple we wanted a double room (not always the case in our experience!)

Nothing significant. If I were pushed to say something I's say the fact there was no minibar fridge in the room, that the shower head was attached to the wall and the flooring between the bed area and the bathroom was very cold underfoot.
John from Reading, United Kingdom;GB (Young couple) 03 September 2006
Whilst not situated in the centre of town, the location overlooking the marina was perfect as a get away for us. There were many local restuarants. You do need to be aware of demoltion and building work ongoing in the area but it wasn't intrusive. Staff were superb we were upgraded when we informed them it was our wedding anniversary and both dinner and breakfast were wonderful.
Worth every penny!
(3305265436)

The hotel was delightful. Although situated in an up and coming area it was near enough to the town centre and other facilities. We were lucky enough to have a room with a marina view. The staff were exteremly attentive and the food of a high quality.

Nothing. A perfect stay.
Clifford from Coventry, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 01 September 2006
I feel that we could have had better directions for finding the accommodation as the one way system was not easy, and the mention of the quay on signposts should have been given more prominence'

This is by far and away the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in in the UK and we stay in a fair few! The young staff were pleasant and helpful but not overbearing. Marvellous attention to detail in the bedrooms and the public areas. Really excellent different choices for breakfast and dinner. Located on the waterfront in Ipswich, a very attractive position for it to be to be situated. Contemporary artwork throughout the hotel and funky comfortable furniture and decor.
(3304771397)

The rooms were spectacular with many original features. The bed was really comfortable, loads of pillows and a real quilt! Cups for coffee and tea were proper sized and the hairdryer and the kettle were not chained down! The bathroom was glorious, state of the art and with room for 2!

Nothing! Except the breakfast coffee was very strong!
Alan from Surbiton, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 18 August 2006
The harbour front setting was perfect and it was great to see so many people out enjoying the warm evening. The hotel fits in perfectly with the exciting building changes happening along the quayside.
We will surely come back to this hotel in the future in look forward to seeing what the dockside will all be like when completed.
We had a wonderful meal in the hotel restaurant - really quite special. Also breakfast was equally superb.
(3305125804)

We thought that the room size was generous, the bed was superb and the fixtures and fittings were of terrific quality. We liked the master switch to put on all of the lights and the shower, in particular, was excellent.

Booked the hotel because we know Ipswich and it is definately the most stylish hotel. Perhaps expecting too much we felt a little bit let down by the stay. The receptionist was verging on impolite, the room had only one bathrobe when there was two of us staying, the divan base was tatty, the hair dryer was terrible, and the shower temperature fluctuated just enough to be annoying. The hotel is still lovely and the best value for money in the area, however if you want a great stay make sure you ask for a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the marina. We didn't, and although the hotel didn't seem full we were put in a room off to the side which really spoilt the stay. Really we think the hotel should charge more for the front rooms because it would have been so much nicer to have french doors with view of the marina - we would have paid extra, and if you don't get this you feel you should pay less.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Good location right on the marina which will improve as the surrounding development matures. Breakfast choice was superb, hot dishes freshly cooked.
(3305015683)

Room facilities were excellent. The bed was particularly comfortable.

Air conditioning would have been an advantage due to the warm weather.
Anonymous (Young couple) 01 August 2006
The room was lovely, with a great view out from the balcony over the marina, and a large bathroom with shower and bath. Despite being next door to a bar, there was no noise inside the room at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a wonderful quayside location, and has a variety of restaurants within a short walking distance. As previously mentioned, the room was incredibly hot during the night - maybe a better hotel for the cosy winter months than in the middle of summer. The included breakfast was delicious, despite being slightly confused as to the arrangements as nobody initially came to take our order for the hot food. Overall, I had a great stay for a great price and would definitely come back.
(3305050502)

The rooms are great, with the hotel being in a fantastic location. In my opinion this is the best hotel in Ipswich.

Our room was not air conditioned, and thanks to our the wonderful summer we are having the provided fan was not sufficient for us to stay cool.
