Any doubts I had about the quality of the accomodation were swept away when the wife of the hotel owner got out her own car to take me some 15km out of town to my morning meeting when the ordered taxi failed to arrive after repeated requests and a booking the previous evening. It was quiet, the hotel staff could not have been more accomodating, the price was reasonable; the breakfast was wholesome and satisfying

The room was poorly decorated, small and at some point had suffered from damp. I had the sense that it was the last one to be let that night
