negative comments Mattress on the bed was old , The springs were coming through and were hurting my back. I had a terrible night sleep and suffered from tiredness all the next day.

After reception we were directed outside to the next entry. on entering it did not seem like a hotel. We thought it may have been accomodation for itinerant workers: some rooms obviously without en suit; again, poor decoration and lack of any sort of detail. The following morning we followed the internal directions to the breakfast room, and were pleased to find that it was a genuine hotel: the murals and general decor was very pleasing; the continental breakfast was good and the views were excellent. The rooms are in serious need of long ovderdue re decoration. This hotel looks very tired and dated, which should not be mistaken for quaint and quirky. It is however in a good location, but the advert should warn of limited parking. (97900887)

We enjoyed a very quiet restful three nights/two days at the Hotel. The staff were very courteous. Car parking could be difficult but was solved without undue fuss. A very enjoyable stay (99852482)

positive comments The river view, piano in the lounge and obvious histpry of the hotel all add to make it an enjoyable place to stay.Our twin room was very comfortable and quite spacious. Its close proximity to Richmond and convenience for walking to Twickenham were also positive features.
negative comments The air of decorative neglect and the very disappointing continental breakfast.

Staff excellent. Charming view of the Thames. Breakfast very good for a continental one. A pity they want 24 hours notice to order a full English breakfast. We ordered tea and sandwiches in the evening as we were late back from the rugby. They were excellent and very good value. (3304485931)

The hotel is in need of refurbishment, it is not up to standard and therefore not good value for money. There are other hotels in Richmond, that offer much better rooms for not much more money. There was a sign in the barthroom that one needs to run the hot water for 5-10 minutes for it to run warm. We started running it, went to breakfast, and 20 mins later it was still cold. It turned out that the boiler was broken. Although the staff were extremely kind and let us use another roo0m to take our showers, I think that a hotel should not operate under such poor conditions.
