Hotel good position,clean and tidy

As this was our anniversary my husband requested champagne and flowers in the room. They couldn't arrange flowers said he would need to do this himself with interflora - said they would supply champagne but never did - so dissapointing as far as customer relations were concerned.

the location, the cleanliness of the room, the fact that we got the no smoking room that we had requested.

we did think that parking should have been included in the price of the room, although we did receive a reduced rate.

The facilities of the restaurant were very good.....we only had breakfast.... it was leaisurly & very nice. We have not stayed in a Nottingham hotel before but, after our stay in the Welbeck, we will certainly be returning in the near future.....Thankyou for a very pleasant stay. Ann & Steve Richardson

The hotel is a minutes walk from all the restuarants, bars and clubs and the room has everything you need for a comfortable nights stay, however the rooms did get rather hot and the blanklets on the bed were uncomfortable. Unfortunately upon our stay we didn't get to use the full facilities within the hotel for various reasons and therefore would advise any1 who is thinking of staying at this hotel to ensure they get there for check in time and do not leave until check out time to get the most for your money.

The blankets on the bed, upon arrival the receptionist did not tell me what she was doing. Didn't know until leaving that a payment hadn't been made.

It was close to the city centre. the staff were friendly and the rooms were very comfortable.

We wanted to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was too small and due to stag party being there was had to use the dining area. The snack menu wasnt great either so we ate out instead.
jane from Manchester, GB (Young couple) 14 March 2007
the hotel is described as city centre but it is at lease 15 minutes walk, from anything.
on complaining about the noise of the previous night we were told we should have complained then we could have changed rooms..... at 11pm at night !!
also that nottingham is a lively city particularly at the weekends !!! yes that maybe but does the hotel have to be so noisy. this completely ruined my stay
(99598755)

the bed room was lovely.

our room was next to a function room where the music was playing so loud we could not hear the tv in our room, this spoiled our quiet romantic night. the noise continued until 1.30 am
no breakfast included

As we have stayed at the Welbeck on a previous visit we knew what to expect. We feel that to be truly competitive Breakfast should be included in the price. A feature worthy of note however is the roof top bar. It's location, roof top views of the city, and the decor make it extremely pleasant. If re-visiting I would look for alternative car parking.

Hotel accomadtion of a very high standard.
The only major drawbacks was the cost of the car park( discount card of no use if staying overnight or longer) and the directions by road not detailed enough.

Well placed hotel, excellent dinner menu and friendly staff.
Receptionists need to be be more aware and provide more info on car park charges and disount (had to ask twice for discount voucher, following advise from car park staff)Cost 22 pounds for 2 nights stay.
Overall, though a very pleasant weekend, would definitely stay again.

REception staff at check in unfriendly/unhelpful, try to understand how th eovernight parking worked, which wasn't explained at all clearly, no smiles or welcome. Night porter at one point made some sarcastic comment over his shoulder about drinking and driving when I said it'll take a couple of drinks to understand how this parking works.
Saturday morning Houskeeping knocked on door at about 9.15 am said they would come back when she realised the room was occupied....about an hour later the room phone rang, it was Hpouskeeping asking if I wanted the room serviced to which i said yes then asked when I was going out!!!!! Made me feel as if I was stopping them from getting on with their job
I have never been asked that in any hotel I've stayed in in this manner anyone would think it was a seaside B&B!!

everything from bookin the hotel online to checking out was very very good the hotel and staff and other guests were outstanding and made our weekend excellent......the car park neeeded to be mentiond before hand as the fee was pricey and the discount from the hotel wasnt much....overall..yes i would go back without hesitation.
(3304746693)

the standard of the hotel was oustanding, when travelling in a large group of the same sex you usually find hotels of a high standard very reluctant to have you as guests, the welbeck made us feel very welcome with our high spirits and made our weekend excellent.

the parking is the only complaint that my party had its such a expensive fee when you are just packing up to go home after such a wonderful night
Anonymous (Group of adult friends) 14 June 2006
The hotel is in an excellent location, literally 5-10 mins walk from the lace market and 5 mins from the city centre. There is a decent cafe near the hotel which is cheaper than eating in the hotel. My only concerns are that there are no safes in the rooms. Also when we arrived, we were told we would not get any discount on the car parking which is

The room was really good value for money....Excellent location in the centre of Nottingham.

The staff were not clued up...We were told we would not get a discount for parking when we checked in as we were staying two nights...However, when we checked out, I asked about parking and was given the discount!! Also my partner tried to arrange for champagne to be in my room but this did not happen, the hotel was not very helpful!!!

I should also like to point out that fixed head showers are difficult too adjust from outside the bath area. Therefore achieving the correct temperature is almost impossble with the solid screens that are in use in the hotel.
