Enjoyable and convenient. (97828848)

Good staff, particularly at
reception. Very
convenient for rail access.

Air conditioning was a constant and despite repeated requests was not turned off. I now have a severe head
cold as a result.

some
noisy customers, some rooms have the window facing the opposite side rooms windows, hence lacking privacy, and sometimes room cleaning was done late in the afternoon. I guess that for the
price and
location, there are some compromises...

Location.

Hotel in general disaray - peeling wall paper, discoloured carpets, matresses with springs very noticeable. The
location is
great and it had real potential, but sadly it was not what we had hoped it would be. I will not be staying there again.

helpful.

It was very
noisy with alot of banging and slamming noiss all night. The plug siockets needed an adaptor which we were not aware of.

Staff friendly and helpful, although under pressure due to staff shortages. Room 'spartan' with no 'personal' touches. Although there was a sign in the lobby saying that a major refurb was due to be carried out, not everyone is guaranteed to see this and so maybe a letter from the GM in the rooms informing guests of timescale, etc. would have been a more personal touch. One of the lifts being out of order was not very convenient on what seemed to be a particularly busy Saturday evening. (97443860)

I cannot think of anything. Even though we had a few small problems with one of the rooms we still were very satisfyed because the staff were on the ball and looked after us very well. This I would once again like to thank them for. They can all take a bow. (97753573)

My recent stay was the second time I have stayed at the Britannia Hotel, Birmingham. I booked the hotel the day prior to arriving and was very happy with the on-line booking service. The price that I paid for the one night stay was excellent value for money.
The room was clean, comfortable and spacious and the furniture was of a good standard. The bathroom fixtures and fittings did however appear old.
When I switched on the television, it was not working properly. I informed reception and immediately someone came to look at it and rectify the problem, which I thought was very impressive.
The breakfast was excellent. One of the best breakfasts I have had at a hotel. It was also good to be able to read a morning newspaper that was free of charge. (97372273)

I liked that the hotel was near to the
train staion and that the local sites were within wakling distance. Your manager was very knowledgeable about the local sites and was very willing to recommend places of interest within walking distance.

The room was slightly smaller than I had thought that it would be, however was
adequate for my needs.
