This is a comfortable hotel in the centre of Edinburgh. It is very conventiently situated for the train station and for central Edinburgh. The staff in the restaruant were delightful both at dinner and at breakfast and the food was good.The room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the castle. I would certainly return there and would recommend it to other business travellers. I did not think it was cheap so would probably not opt to stay there if I were visiting Edinburgh for pleasure unless the hotel had a special offer but it represented good value for money for a business stay. Loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the professionalism of the staff there

Just an odd thing in the bathroom, the towel rail, the toilet roll holder and the soap holder were not level, they looked like someone just slapped them on the wall, but other than that all was great.

The hotel has a very central location as regards most tourist activities. It also has a charming old atmosphere, and when we complained about the warm room, the clerks took action in a very professional and friendly way. Of course our stay suffered from the refurbishion going on, but when that work is finished, the hotel will be very attractive, unless you get the warm room. (3304894219)

Our first room -604 was well equipped, with a good batthroom. Our second room(after reclamaition) was excellent: both as regards size and view.

Room 604 was very warm. We had a fan, but then it got too noisy and still too warm to sleep well.
