Wouldn't stay there again (107476375)

positive comments Room was clean
negative comments Food was appalling! Room was far too hot and the radiator wouldn't turn off. Restaurant ceiling began to fall down Most of the hotel's windows were filthy

For the money it was good value (107246012)

positive comments Excellent value for money
negative comments Room could have had a splash of paint that would make a massive diff. The check out staff were slow and so laid back they were in danger of falling over.

Seedy and dilapidated hotel. Excellent location and potential. We continued our journey, staying at two "apartment" accomodation, where facilities were equivalent to any five star hotel, but charging £60 per night. There has obviously been an initial capital investment in your hotel, but lack of revenue expenditure in repairs and renewals is self-evident. (97645350)

positive comments Reception, lounge and dining room clean and inviting.Unabile to turn off TV in lounge - why is it operating unless required by patrons?
negative comments Ground Floor toilets very poor condition. Ceiling panels missing. Wall plaster falling off. Bedroom - Ceiling Tiles broken. No light to dressing table/workstation. Rippled surface to above from water damage? Iron mark on floor inside doorway. Windows and Net Curtains filthy. Overlooking untidy flat roof with display of cigerette butts and tools taken up at some past time to clear up. Bathroom cracked tiles to shower end. One light not working. No basin plug. Cracked bath panel. I did not take shower as I was concerned that the water would ingress through the poor bath seals to spoil other rooms. Replacement door lock but previous position not filled.
Excellent

positive comments Clean, private, fairly quiet.
negative comments Had bachache and felt like a relaxing bath. There was, however, no plug. The shower was difficult to get into and the water took a long time to become the right temperature. The breakfast eggs were lukewarm. We were not offered a choice besides white toast, which my sister and I dislike.

This was not the best hotel I have stayed in but was good value for money and it's location was excellent for the nightlife we wanted for our stay in Birmingham. It was easy to find. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel is not the most modern inside. My only real compliant was at breakfast when we had to wait ages for a member of staff to come and ask us want we wanted. We had to knock on the kitchen door! (99779669)

positive comments Good value for money, well located for night life, plenty of parking, polite staff, clean.
negative comments Waited ages for waitress at breakfast. TV didn't work in room.
