excellent position for walking into york, 10 Min's from York Minster. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, hotel room just as advertised, lots of choice for restaurants and pubs within walking distance.

The bedroom was beautiful but the bathroom could do with updating or re-modernising as it didn't quite fit with the room.

Non smoking in the outdoor garden area. Fair enoguh, hotel policy I guess, but to put signs up saying it is illegal to smoke in that area are wrong, as it wouldn't be !!! Hotel policy and law are not the same thing.

Although we enjoyed our stay at the Heworth we were very disappointed with the room. We will definately come back to york but will not be staying at the Heworth (97256380)

Accomodation was in a good location staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was brought to the table and was excellent

The room was very small no bath and needed decorating.Cover to go over bed had not been washed and was grubby. There were no curtains although there was a curtain pole at the windows only blinds which made it very light in the mornings.

We both enjoyed our evening meal, the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and always happy to be of assistance. We found this to be a good base for visiting York and it was only a 10 - 15 minute walk into the centre. Alterantively there was a bus stop just outside the hotel. I would have liked to have known how busy this main road was going to have been, not being familiar with the area, although it appeared not to affect other guests in different parts of the hotel. The room was lovely and plush and very comfortable. The Hotel was very homely and had a lovely ambience.

Our room was directly facing onto a main road. There was no ac/fan to cool the room, but at this time we were experiencing unusually hot weather. We found it extremely difficult to sleep.

Overall very pleased with accommodation and staff were very helpful. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the Minster, which mean't we didn't need the car while we were there. The resturant served up nice selection of evening meals, although the veg were over cooked. The meals were rather pricey though. We could have eaten similar for far less in town centre. Breakfasts excellent though. If on future short stay in York, would certainly consider this hotel again. (3304392163)

Comfortable, friendly helpful staff

En suite facilities. Our 'executive room' only had a small shower, with separate toilet, in what looked more like a cupboard, rather than a purpose built toilet facility. Thought perhaps the room was large enough to have sacrificed a small amount of additional space to have created a proper bathroom facility

The hotel was quite a long walk from the center of the city so would not suit anyone who could not walk any distance.We woudd have liked to be able to have had a bar snack on the evening we could not get a meal. We could not fault the staff or the cleanliness of the hotel both were excellent (3304130496)

the size of the bedroom was good and it had a kingsize bed. the food was good and staff were friendly and eficient.

we were disappointed that we could not have a meal on one evening because there was an event taking place in the dining room. The pillows were not good.

This is a nice, well kept and good value hotel in an ideal location for exporing York. Easy to drive to, but only a 10min stroll to the centre. Clean and tidy with a good sized room (we were on the top floor in the annexe). Despite being on a fairly major road it's quiet at night and the off-road parking (with CCTV) is a bonus. The staff were very pleasant and the food at breakfast good (but it's a cold walk across on a frosty morning!) The pictures and description on the website give an accurate representation of the place overall. (2868040)
