Generally we had an enjoyable stay but were disappointed by room standard and this would probably stop us using this hotel again. (97744383)

positive comments Buffet breakfast presented well with plentiful choice for all tastes, Leisure facilities good. Bar area relaxed & comfortable. Location good.
negative comments Disappointed by room standard (Room 247), Decor very worn/scruffy, Radiator literally hanging off wall with very untidy temporary type repair done.Generally looked like room hadn't been decorated or modernised since about 1970 !! Room rate was competitive in price but we have stayed in other similarly-priced rooms in similar standard of hotel & enjoyed much fresher & more comfortable accomodation.

This is a hotel which we have used in the past and, will use again in future. The hotel is close enough to the city center and all amenities without the problems of city center traffic. It is also easily accessible from the motorway. The hotel staff are pleasant, friendly, and helpful. An ideal hotel for short stays in the Glasgow area. (97737911)

positive comments The hotel was close to the amenities/area we were visiting and the rate was very reasonable. There is a good choice of food for breakfast.
negative comments The bathroom was in need of some maintenance (broken tiles around mirror with a hole in the wall)and the room was in need of a fresh coat of paint.

Should have asked about double/triple glazing as noise was terrible during night,I should also have asked how old hotel was and when or if it had been renovated.Food was also of very disappointing standard. (97209807)

positive comments Liked the central location of hotel
negative comments Disliked noise coming from outside hotel, furniture in room was very shabby,food-at dinner and breakfast, was very poor

Hotel was situated in run-down, depressed area. Dinner menu poor - no vegetables!Restaurant was inadequately staffed. Staff were unhelpful - did not make you feel welcome. (3304876609)

positive comments The leisure facilities were small but adequate. Rooms were nicely furnished.
negative comments Could not have windows open due to excess outside traffic noise.

A nice stay and very helpful staff but the one dislike was that renovation was being carried on when we where there, this didnt disturb us but we had planned to go for a swim on the saturday morning and found it to be closed which wasnt good as we where looking forward to using it the night before (3304435543)

The Swallow Hotel is ideally situated just outside the city centre of Glasgow,it has easy access from the M8 Motorway. You can either get a taxi or a short bus ride into the city centre. The Hotel is run by a efficient caring team of staff. (3304440521)

positive comments Neat tidy and compact.
negative comments The Hotel met all our needs and requirements.

it would have been helpful to have known what the district was like. Found it confusing, thought i had paid active but i had to pay hotel. Breakfast was not very good, coffee like treacle, cooked breakfast needed to be cooked further, tomatoes extremely hard, scrambled eggs had spice taste. Fresh fruit consisted of grapefruit and orange, both tasteless. Car park was busy due to functions that were taking place, no priority to hotel guests. (3304420174)

negative comments Better bathroom facilities, did not use leisure facilities because of strong smell of chlorine, very strong. New chef.

negative comments the leisure facilities were poor

Waiters who know what the menu is would be a distinct advantage, a chef who can keep soup warm and learn to cook a steak medium not cremated, no matter how small the cut is, and believe me the rib eye is more like a rib pupil! Normally when someone asks how the meal is if in a truly British way the response is well (3304241556)

positive comments Parking and convenience for Glasgow, The receptionist was very welcoming.
negative comments Staff training in customer service, A good managerwould see the shortcommings of may areas.

Only a £6 taxi journey into the city centre which by far outways the extra cost of staying in a similar hotel in the centre. (2685664)

positive comments Clean, polite and knowledgable staff, value for money.
