This is truly Fawlty Towers. Staff were friendly but that's where it ends. Rooms very old & in need of refurb. Bathrooms & shower very poor. Breakfast ends at 9.30am even at the weekend !! Definitely won't be coming back. Its cheap for a very good reason. (97197840)

Did not like the stay.

Very old hotel. Needs a complete renovation. Bathrooms poor. Towels & bedlinen were not replenished daily. 3rd bed was only a camp bed.

Upper floor was in genral good decorative order. Suggest door to 1st and 2 floors is a lockable fire door type. Any one could go up the stairs without being noticed! We did! Breakfast was fine but would prefer own coffee pot as opposed to cup being filled on request. Public areas smelt strongly of stale cigarette smoke (99789842)

Large Room, clean at eye level

Bathroom scruffy, toilet seat cheap and nasty plastic! Couldn't open any windows, cobwebs above shoulder level especially around window. Curtain ropes past sell by date! Only one sachet of coffee in courtesy tray.

The hotel is excellently situated close to the river and shopping facilities. Our stay was only marred by the behaviour of others which the staff tolerated with amazing forbearance. (99662196)

The road outside was very noisy and the table area outside very noisy below our window. The restaraunt is very dated though the carvery was superb. Out of stock on several items on bar menu. staff were hard working and very pleasant. Speaking from experince after 30 years in the trade with a little t.l.c. it could and should be an excellent establishment. (3304395459)

The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely polite and helpfull. The food was good value, tasty and brought with a smile.

The gents toilet was somewhat dated but clean.

Value for money was excellent and the staff were very friendly.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with disabilities as a lot of stairs.I requested a non smoking room but our room was smoking -smelt of smoke and stale - had to open window.As above too much furniture in teh room - shower basis - would not recommend for a luxury break-it suited us as we were staying one night for a theatre trip.In summary it was adequate. Don't forget to pay when checking out - very misleading -checked in - authorised credit card with pin - double checked when returning keys -advised need to sign credit card slip when checking out !! rooms -very dated with too much furniture.

Despite the restaurant looking proffessional we were told that at least half the menu wasn't available and what was, wasnt very well cooked considering the prices charged. there seemed to be a distinct lack of staff considering the size of the hotel and the amount of people staying. After a comfortable night we went down for breakfast only to be greeted by dirty glasses and jugs. We weren't shown the breakfast menu and were served by a waitress in her outdoor coat. Very unproffessional!!!!! Having said all this our stay was comfortable but we would recommend you eat out. Basically you get what you pay for. (3304267830)
