Clean and tidy

Room too hot, radiator on full on hot day in corridor. Internet booking not recognised at reception - fortunately there was a room available

The food was very good.

The kettle in room was not clean at all and no air-conditioner working in room.

The overall experience was OK the walls are too thin and so conversations can be heard - annoying when trying to get to sleep. The checkin/out procedure was efficient but more care needs to be taken over the customer. (99296129)

Adequate + comfortable - but not somewhere that I would book again unless the other hotels I use more frequently were booked - which is a a terrible shame - as the hotel is close to several ammenities i.e., shops/supermarkets in case I have run out of anything, and is set in a very lovely location - but, I felt significantly out of place, and an oddity by going to the public areas such as the bar/restaurant as a woman on my own. Wireless internet access was great - and allowed me to work away from home - both in my room and and in the public areas.

The shower was not much more than a trickle - fine for a quick splash to wash, but as someone with long hair, not good enough to feel as though I could wash my hair adequately. I went to the bar on both evenings - service was slow, and on both evenings I was consistently overlooking whilst trying to order a drink and food as the bar staff served the louder and more ostentacious - male - guests at the bar. As a woman on my own I felt as an anomoly - rather than a paying guest. Indeed, on more than one occasion another guest had to point out to the bar staff that they had overlooked me.

I visited the hotel with my wife with the intention of a relaxing leisure break. This hotel was ideal. Refurbishment is now complete. The room we stayed in (standard double) was modern, clean and big enough for our needs. The leisure facilities (sauna, steam room, pool, spa and fitness) were more than adequate for our stay. The breakfast was great. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as we ventured into town, but the menu looked nice although expensive. Bar prices could be cheaper (£7 odd for pint and short) but usual for a hotel bar. Taxi ride into cambridge was £15 each way which was expensive for the distance, but the money saved staying at this hotel rather than the more expensive (with less to offer) hotels in cambridge, still worked out cheaper. Rooms recently refurbished so clean and modern. Breakfast superb and leisure facilities great. Didn't play golf as I had to take the wife :-( but course looked in good condition.

Bar a bit expensive as was the restaurant.

We are very new to stopping in hotels and the receptionist booking was excellent. However an introduction to the facilities, would be useful and how to use the keycard. I.e. when you enter the room the keycard slots into a box to switch on the lights this were unknown to us, it was a good job it was mid day and sun was bright. Apart from that it was a very relaxing and enjoyable day (3304696670)

Thought the not included breakfeast was very expensive. Got my dinner order wrong offered to change but not really a problem.
