I have stayed in many hotels and this was very disappointing in terms of cleanliness. I visit Manchester quite frequently but I will not stay in this hotel again.

The room was not cleaned to a high standard. The windows must have had at least five years dirt on them, the net curtains on the window were yellow and stiff with age, there were two cigarette burns in these curtains.the carpet in the room looked like it had been vacuumed by somebody with tunnel vision, the sides and under furniture were dusty. The waste bin in the bedroom contained, under the plastic binliner, waste from a previous occupant. The bathroom was unclean, dirty marks in the bath, rusty plughole, didn't look inviting to have a bath nor a shower.the rubber mat which goes into the bath for shower was unclean. Behind the toilet the edge of the floor meeting wall was full of grime and there was even a tablet lying in it which had obviously been dropped by a previous occupant. The bed sheets were clean. The kettle in the room was still marked with smudges from the previous occupant. Breakfast was not worth the money. Dishes on display were dried up and inedible.Tea flasks need cleaning they are very dirty and stained.

When I spoke to the duty manager about the issues below action was instant.

TV remote did not operate TV. Only one chair in room. Twice I spoke to reception. On both occasions action was promised but nothing happened.

nice staff, friendly at the desk and the bar

none of the lifts worked. My son would have liked chalk for his pool cue

I would have liked to be informed that the hotel was so close to the motorway as the traffic was very loud all through the night and if it had been a summers night then I wouldn't have been able to open the window etc.
(97879228)

The room was large considering it was only a single. I had a large storage space for my luggage and the room was very clean.

When I checked in the lady on reception wasn't really very helpful and a little abrupt. Also there wasn't any hot water at all for my morning shower so I had to boil the kettle and fill the bath although in the end I just resigned myself to having a cold shower instead.

Comfortable with good dining facilities

Only one lift operating and very difficult to go to 3rd floor and for it to stop at that floor when departing. Electronic key inoperable on most occasions needing to insert on many occasions before it worked

If I had known in advance the general state of the bedroom, the poor quality restaurant and limited food menu I would not have booked. The whole place looked tired and grubby. On the morning of our departure the courtesy bus we had booked for the night before, arrived and was full already. We were told we would have to go by taxi as would the other people waiting in line for the same bus. All these people were visitors from abroad - not a good experience for them having limited English, and all this in the pouring rain. Points out of ten, 1 point Britannia.

not very much

poor bedroom in great need of a make-over. The dining room had a poor menu and very tired fittings, but helpful staff.

Generally good value for money, clean beds and bathroom and convenient.
At breakfast, food containers were empty and we had to ask staff for each item. Staff were responsive and polite but not pro-acive.

The hotel is ideal for what we wanted overnight stay before early flight from Manchester and we could park our car for the duration of our holiday.
But we think the decor in the bar could be updated though the bar snacks are very good value.
Also the staff where very polite and helpful.

Hotel very nice, but the room we had needed updating

The room we had was a twin room (only one available at time of booking) but we thought the other two rooms we had had on previous vists had better decor. Though all of them where comfy and had tea and coffee making facilities, and clean bathrooms.

I was quite disappointed in the room as I had specifically asked for and checked by phone to confirm that the room was quiet and air conditioned. I had a heart operation the next day and was anxious to get some decent rest beforehand. As it was the room was not air conditioned and, being the hottest day on record this was a disaster for me. It was also very noisy. I appreciate that sometimes things don't go according to plan but as I had taken the time to double check it was very disappointing to be let down like that. I was also very surprised that I was unable to have my breakfast in my room, is this a new policy of yours?

Room size was just about OK, all the services worked OK.

Too noisy, on the the motorway side.

Not a lot really.

We would have been quicker to choose your hotel had we known that you had an airport shuttle. Also, the nearby pub was a pleasant surprise
(2572987)

Fair price.. Hotels in Great Britain are over pricedin comparison to other countries. Most Canadians say that they cannot afford to visit.

We were pleased in general, however, your elevators are slow.
