Very convenient for Edinburgh, and very easy to get to the hotel from Edinburgh airport via bus and train. Lovely town with friendly locals but quiet.

Excellent friedly staff and locals. Good bar, open fire. Food is wonderful and not too expensive. Location on high street is fine, easy parking in rear courtyard. Must go down to the harbour for beautiful views and coastal walks (easy).

Some rooms are a little dated, but overall fine.

Very enjoyable

We were a little disappointed by the initial impression of the hotel, we thought it was a little expensive for B&B in a 'pub', but presumed this was the area price. However, we found the room clean and the linen excellent. The food both at breakfast and dinner was superb and very good value. The staff were very pleasant and obliging.

VERY FRIENDLY GOOD ATMOSPHERE

SEEMED UNDERSTAFFED , I HAD A LATE START ONE MORNING SO AT 9AM THE CLEANERS WOKE ME WITH THE SOUND LIKE THEY WERE RACING 250 MOTOCROSS BIKES! AS THE VACUUM CLEANER WAS LOUD.

I would recommend this hotel to all. The beauty of the area and friendliness of staff and townspeople were a delight.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and professional. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of in a timely manner, whether it was dining or wiping off seats outside after the rain.

The only complaint I could make is that at breakfast, part of the breakfast menu for full breakfast was beans. I think I counted probably 10 single beans which I thought was very mean. The rest of the food was good.

The owners are very caring.Because I was disabled and alone they made enquiries when I didn't turn up for breakfast one morning. The facilities were spotless, water always hot and plenty of soap and towels.Ihave stayed here before and would do so again.Late night noise was the only problem this time.
(3304783056)

Disabled friendly.Much better than more upmarket places I have stayed!!

Do to the new smoking rules and the exceptional weather, guests moved outside into the courtyard to drink and smoke which was noisy until late.

There are not many available hotels in this area and the general quality of hotels in Scotland is poor, so there is little competition. However the star ratings really need to be monitored and removed where they are not justified.
(3304634755)

Close proximity to the person we were visiting.

Inadequate parking spaces, poor standard of furnishings, run down decoration, room not being made up on the second day. Breakfast sittings finish at 9.00 am.

Romm was a bit snug for two large men and the bathroom was very tight - barely adequate. However, for the price the hotel represents good value for money and I will certainly book there again.

Family room great - staff friendly.

Online booking - return message omitted the child from a booking with 2 adults and 1 child. Had to ring the hotel to confirm that the child was included.

The hotel is situated within easy reach of the Forth Bridge Crossing so making it ideally placed to access all of the surrounding tourist areas. The web site for the hotel is very informative and contained all the information I required prior to my visit.

All the staff were helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. The hotel was also well placed for the Knockhill Motor Racing Cicuit, which was the reason for our visit. It is my intention to re-visit the hotel later in the year for my wifes birthday.

We came to Aberdour because we lived here when we first got married 35 years ago and wanted a base to get about. This hotel gave us the perfect base and a welcome on our return. Food was excellent although we only had one meal but the breakky was tops. The bar was well stocked and, being a licensee, the staff were on the ball. The rooms had everything we needed and the furniture comfortable.

Accommodation quiet and restful. The food was wonderful. Aberdour has more to see than we realised. As well as a castle there are some nice walks in the area.
