breakfast excellent,
friendly staff.

Top cover on bedding soiled, decoration of staircase and room looks tired and shaby which gives an overall impression of room not being
clean. No fire escape plan in room.

Overall I was very happy with the hotel and will definitely stay there again when visting my daughter who lives just three minutes from the hotel. (97355137)

The
Star was warm and
comfortable and reminded me a bit of a coaching inn. It was
nice to stay in a hotel with character unlike some of the corporate business places I have to stay!

My room was too
hot (even in December) and the radiator would not respond to me trying to turn it down so I ended up leaving a window open.

The car park is very limited for spaces. (97050982)

The prompt
service of the young waitress's during the
breakfast periods.

The general hygiene of the hotel was
poor dirty carpets & walls, not enough attention to detail such as the
toilet areas.

The
location was ideal for our visit

Our room looked shabby, with paper hanging from the ceiling.

The Star Hotel was a very pleasent place to stay and I would go back to the hotel again as the manor in which I was treated was very good. (99550887)

The hotel room was well worth the money in which i pad for it and all staff were
helpful and well manored

The
bathroom taps were not working fully and also some of the
breakfast food menu wasn't as tasteful as what was expected

Very satisfied. (3304367328)

We found it very good for it's
star class. Reminded us of
old England and especialy the lunge and it's warm welcoming open fire. The staff were very
helpful
One could say the lift could be improved but we like it as part of that
old world charm.

I have stayed in the star before and in my view the price on the net was excellent given the accomodation. i knew what to expect and the service and food was far better than two years ago. iwas aware that you would discount rates at this time and despite ringing on four occasions over a four week period i could not get the cost down under 75. however immediately i went on the web i got straight on to your site on the first search under great yarmouth. i have no issue and overall i spent over 300 with you (3304098579)

The Accomodation was good basic and
clean.
breakfast excellent and staff excellent.

The hotel is very tired overall and needs refurbishment.
Donna from ipswich, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 18 October 2005
nice friendly hotel, hard to find behind all the scaffolding tho no signs outside due to refurbishment, staff were good , downstairs areas were well thought out and nice to look at but affraid our room was abit of a dissapointment, dark dull and abit cramped but having said that comfortable (2848351)

hotel lobby and
bar area were good, staff very
pleasant,
service with a smile,

making rooms abit brighter and more appealling, our room 103 looked
old and worn out

Overall the hotel was adequate for our needs but I dont think I would have wanted to stay there for more than 2-3 nights. It was ok as a base just to be visiting relatives in the area. (2565512)

The
location - very close to tourist attractions
patricia from benfleet, United Kingdom;GB (Young couple) 17 August 2005
generally it was ok.
i would have like to have been told that although you have parking it is very little and tight spaces.
i would like to have known its hard to get in late at night. (2622022)
breakfast was
lovely staff where
friendly
the buzzer never worked to get in of an evening. the remont control didnt work the hair dryer didnt work. you could also improve
parking. our key card was very tempremental

The bathroom in our room was very clean and modern, but the actual bedroom does need updating. The staff were pleasant and the food was very nice. We would stay there again as it was very central to all amenities in Yarmouth. (2502453)

The hotel was situated in a good
location for
Yarmouth town, ie a car was not needed once you arrived. Accommodation was very basic.

The hotel needs a larger car
park. The carpet in our room was very marked and dirty and bedspread was frayed and
old.
Jack from Venlo, Netherlands;NL (Group of adult friends) 29 June 2005
I think that a 3*** rating is overdone. Should be -1*. The fact that the place is old is ok. It's a nice building and could be very attractive. I stayed in the hotel some 20 years ago and honestly nothing had changed apart from the bath room. (the toilet lid was loose)Even the staff has seen better days.
By the way the car park is far too small. I think it only takes about 10 or 12 cars and is constantly full.
Hope you show all this on your website and/or inform the hotel management. (2390586)

Nothing realy. The place is
old, not maintained. The rooms are
hot and not airconditioned. The beds covers have had their best times and the
bathroom was too
small to turn in. The corridor was dark, the lights did not work. In the
morning the
noise of a large machine (airco?) woke me up. What a place....

Knock the place down or do it up to the level of ordinairy standard on the 21st century. No luxury but just normal and adequate standards.

This hotel is in a great location and the room I stayed in was a very large comfortable one with a fantastic bathroom as well. The breakfast was hearty and the staff friendly. (2374686)

Fantastic sized room,
great bath and very comfy bed.
