Very uncomfortable and an altogether unedifying experience (107276074)
location
Room too
small
Poor decorative condition of room
Bathroom dirty and
broken equipment
Low level of security
Unclean common areas and lift
Lift in
poor state of repair and unsafe
Maintenance work being carried out on a Saturday evening
K E from SHEPSHED, GB (Mature couple) 02 August 2008
cheap and cheerful o k for couple of nights but no longer (108075848)

close to tube and museums large
reception area
linen
clean
rooms too
small, we had a
double bed in what was clearly a
single room the bed was pushed up against a
wall you could not
walk round it or open the window

I would like to have known exactly how far from the RAH it was located and what amenities the room provided i.e. air conditioning, hair dryer. (97085680)

The receptionist was very
friendly and pleasant.

The hotel room seriously needed upgrading. The
walls were covered in marks and makeup and who knows what. The
bathroom ceiling had mold growing all over it. The
shower walls had mold as well. All it needed was for some bleach to be sprayed directly on the
walls and left to soak. The room needed a paint job. It was a bit warm in the room and could have done with a fan.

A grim 'cupboard' in the basement, what was there to like?!

the
reception area was very smart and the bed linen was first class

the
shower room was very tired looking and the
shower had no pressure

Whilst the staff were very pleasant and the asthetics of the building were fine, the hotel internally was of very poor quality and smelled of dampness.
The bedroom whilst clean and tidy, was very very small and the bathroom was of a very poor quality.
The breakfast was not... Bit of toast and a cup of tea...
Not what i expected. (97421710)

locality

hallways were very smelly with dampness and the bedroom was very very
small. The
shower required extensive upgrading and the
tiles required replacing.

It was just what we asked for, a
nice bed to
sleep in for an overnight stay.

Nothing was there to dislike.

It was a filthy
dirty hotel in need of complete refurbishment

IN VIEW OF THE AMOUNT CHARGED FOR MY STAY i WAS NOT EXPECTING THE RITZ HOWEVER, I WAS NOT EXPECTING THE ACCOMMODATION TO APPEAR TO BE OF SUCH A LOW STANDARD, NOR FOR THE ROOOM TO BE SO SMALL. IT WAS A PITY BECAUSE THE HOTEL IS IN A WONDERFUL LOCATION - THE OUTSIDE IS SMART AS IT THE RECEPTION AND IT WOULD ONLY TAKE A LITTLE EMULSION PAINT, BATHROOM TILES ETC TO MAKE THE INTERIOR ACCEPTABLE. (99041660)

THE HOTEL WAS IN A BRILLIAN POSITION FOR VISITING THE
ROYAL ALBERT HALL - THAT BEING THE PURPOSE OF MY STAY

THE ROOM, LIFT, STAIRS AND LOBBY ARREA WERE IN A VERY
POOR STATE OF DECORATION AND LOOKED QUITE TATTY. ADDITIONALLY THE ROOM WAS EXTREMELY
SMALL INDEED UPON VIEWING THE ROOM MY FRIEND WISHED TO LEAVE!
ian from bristol, GB (Mature couple) 26 May 2007
as expected great location for museums and transport links. we found the accommodation adequate and cheap for an overnight stay. Looked like a 4* hotel from the outside but was more like a hostel inside. Might use again but could not recommend to friends because of the dirty state of the poor decoration and its perceived effect. (99991543)
convenient location for our
visit to v&a and chelsea flower show.very imposing exterior. reasonable
price.
friendly and
helpful staff

strange cramped room, two
double beds joined by a corridor with
bathroom and separate toilet off. all in serious need of decoration.

L'hôtel est bien placé .

La chambre est trop petite pour 2 personnes .

This standard of accomodation should have been marketed as a backpackers hostel in nepal. (99306855)

The room was very tight and the bed was a
small double. The
shower had
broken tiles and mould and was generally disgusting.

better grading of the accommodation when specify to indicate the real quality. It was old and tired and would need extensive rework to bring the standard up, was clean and recently decorated, so functional and reasonable value for city accommodation. (99070056)

Functional the accomodation was reasonable, although you need to run the water for a considerable time before it was warm. Staff were
friendly and functional. Accommodation although
clean and tidy and had recently been decorated was old and weathered
Traffic noise.

The plenty
hot water for
shower.

The
price for the room in the basement which I stayed. And I had no idea at all that the room I booked for at such a
price was in the basement before I saw it.

In our room, there was plaster falling off of the walls, the bed was broken in two and slid all over the room, the sheets were ripped, the hot water took about 20 minutes to come through and then was only luke warm. Outside our window was the staff room which kept us awake late at night and was generally noisy at all times. We had to keep our windows and curtains closed as a result, not ideal hotel conditions. The staff were brief and to the point with no attention paid to customer service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. (3304937581)
Convenient distance from underground and local amenities

The room we stayed in and the hotel overall was in a bad state of disrepair.

Nothing

Room No 8 We could not get to
sleep for the
traffic noise. For the room itself, plaster coming off the
wall, overall state of
bathroom was
poor.

This hotel is not 3 star. I feel I was misled in booking it. After about an hour there, I left. Finding that they had no spare blankets was the final straw. I was charged for the first night, which I feel is wrong. The hotel was of poor quality. I feel the main problem is that it was inappropriately rated as 3 star. (2470440)

Very little. the
location.

Many. The room was tiny, one floor underground. Overall nothing like what I would expect of a 3 star hotel
