A brilliant location, however, the hotel needs an upgrade.
Good bathroom facilities are paramount, paticularly for guests who have travelled long distances.
(107874729)

Staff polite and quite helpful.
Breakfast staff very good.
Hotel location ideal for Norwich.

Bathrooms require updating. Shower curtains are dated, bath panels cracked.
Shower poor. Room carpets shabby.
Booked a 3am departure call. It did not happen. Long wait in the evening for room key at reception.
Paul from Leicester, GB (Solo business traveller) 06 October 2008
Refreshing for business trip - actually enjoyed rather than endured - will definitely use again on business and/or leisure trips to Norwich
(107915479)

Quiet a unique hotel in set up, very quiet and in lovely grounds given the proximity to city centre. Good parking! Staff very efficient and also extremely friendly and curtious at all times, very professional whilst informal as well.

Only complaint was that breakfast was very poor, given that there were only 5 guest at the time. Food was just above cold and not of the best quality. Service was excellent, again efficient and friendly

The only thing I would say is the cooked breakfast was not that good, the sausage looked like it had been well overcooked and the menu stated fresh fruit but it was tinned
Anonymous (Mature couple) 07 September 2008
not the standard expected of a 3 star hotel
(97145263)

reasonable breakfast

very limited 24 hour service of staff; missed cleaning room twice; very small room; no towel rails; slippy shower; very noisy.

Hundreds of cigarette ends outside our building's entrance. A rather unpleasant find behind the mattress - someone's (used) handkerchief. uurgh!

Overall we felt as though we were staying in a rented apartment and not a hotel. Would not return to the same lodge. Visited the Beeches Hotel and thought the gardens beautiful and facilities much better although other guests (friends) staying there thought the rooms quite old and grotty.
(108059596)

We stayed at the Beeches Lodge. Very spacious, clean room. Near to centre. Friendly and obliging porter.

No phone in room, (no hairdryer/ iron in room) Latter received on request. No bar on premises (quite strange for a 'Hotel'). No bottle opener available in hotel. Outside area very dirty. Back entrance dirty and in need of weeding. Room not ready until 4.30pm.
Anonymous (Mature couple) 17 August 2008
Despite the negatives the location is ideal for Norwich.
(107196100)

Clean good value, good waitress service.

Room serviced very late on one occasion. Shower curtain and bath needs updating.
Booking in a disaster having booked on line should have made it simple. long wait for room. Toasting machines not adequate.

Value for money and would happily stay again.
(108027253)

The hotel has good parking arrangements and the room was clean. The hotel provides Wifi.

The walls are a bit to thin as you can hear noises in rooms below and to the side. There is no restaurant in the hotel for evening dinner, although the owner does own restaurants nearby.

The entire staff was exceedingly friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed.

My only regret is that I had but one night to spend in your lovely establishment.

good location, spacious and well furnished room

Dislike is to strong a word. One of us thought the bed was a bit ridgy. I chose a difficult part of car park to park and would have welcomed a bit more light for nightime parking.
Anonymous (Young couple) 22 February 2008
We arrived at 11.30am and asked reception if we could leave the car until we could check in and were told that our room was ready. Plenty of car parking. Lovely Victorian gardens.

it was clean and nice

not really dislike, but the toilet should be renewed; and there was not wireless connection in the second building.
Sat TV would be appreciated

Very Convenient for Norwich City Centre, Stairs a little awkward for large suitcase, but this only applied too rooms above number 43. When booking ask for a room in the main block if you find stairs difficult or if you have a large suitcase.

I think most people want to know more about the internal facilities of your hotel, posting more photos at your website is important. My family and I suspected the room was clean or tidy or not before we arrived, however my anxiety was over when I saw your hotel.
(97132929)

The place is clean and price is reasonable.

Wireless internet service is poor , most time I had to set at lobbery to access internet and it was quite inconvenient.

The room was excellent, very clean and to our great surprise even contained two comfortable chairs. We have never understood why rooms for two people only have one chair!! The only let down was the bed which every time one of us moved the bed creaked. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff at reception were very nice--cheerful, friendly and very helpful. Hotel location allowed me to walk into city centre (not a short walk, but convenient for me). Hotel breakfast was so-so.
(97617912)

Clean bright room, reasonably attractive, quiet

Toilet flush didn't work very well. Bed was rather small. I don't like duvets--they don't stay in position like sheets and blankets, tend to fall off, and are too hot and heavy in warm weather.

The shower was an electric shower, that had very low water pressure. Everytime the temperature was set it would turn to cold, rather than keep to the required temperature. There were no bedside tables in the room, as a result I had to put things on the floor next to the bed. There were signs of damp patches on the walls. Outside the window the gardner had piled up rubbish bricks wood etc. Not a pretty sight. The room looked as though it needed refurbishing a couple of years ago.
