The hotel has great potential. I loved being in the centre of Cambridge; beds v comfy. The rack rate however is rediculously too high to pay but we were able to book online and for £79 inc b'fast, that was as much as I would have paid. The night before I paid £75 exc b'fast and stayed at nearby Hilton (I was on business) and is a preferable option. The breakfast however was great as it was freshly cooked and v delicious! Helpful and
friendly staff;
comfortable bed

Tired
decor both in corridors and in rooms. The first room that I was shown to was cramped, dark, dingy, had ripped wallpaper in the
bedroom, dreadful
view and smelled badly of cigarette smoke. However, once I complained I was given a larger and nicer room although the
standard of
decor generally was
poor.
Noisy on saturday night due to weddings/functions but a letter was put under our door to warn us.

I would imagine having the pick of students helps with staffing (107249700)

Radio 2 blaring in the break-fast room. Why have music anyway?

The main thing I would like to have known is that some rooms have views of the park which we were fortunate to get. (97053325)

The hotel is very well situated, the staff were
friendly and efficient, on-site car
parking,
breakfast excellent and most of all it was
clean!

The hotel was well positioned and
pleasant. The staff were
helpful and
friendly
There appeared not to be enough staff and they were not very well managed or trained.
Breakfast was a shambles

On the whole a very nice hotel which I would recommend as a base to see this lovely area. I think £10 a night to park your car is over the top. The bedroom was comfortable and the staff very helpful. The Parkers Bar and Ballroom for breakfast were both excellent. (3304640835)

Communal areas of Hotel were very luxurious -
breakfast buffet was excellent

Some nightime noise from nearby
park

Very close to
city centre.
Lovely views. Good
breakfast, beautifully set table.

Cleanliness; dust on many surfaces and
bar tables dirty with glass 'rings' at all times of the day. Menus in
bar sticky

Checking in and the friendliness of the staff was a saving grace.

The bed was not turned down for the night. Also despite a suite the
bedroom was cramped not helped by a desk and chair making it difficult to move around the room, unneccessary when there is another room. Also failed to make the
shower work.
