Horrible experience and we told manager that we would never return and would not recommend hotel to anyone. Receptionist suggested another hotel in Farnham......good advertising! (108095409)

The character and history attached to the building, made it the number one choice for us, having researched many local hotels. The price was the best we came across, for what was on offer, and that the room featured things such as a balcony - which others didn't. The setting and the location of the hotel also added greatly to our enjoyment. (3305242930)

positive comments Everything in the room was spot-on. It was clean, very spacious, and nice and quiet.
negative comments The only thing I was slightly unhappy about was the receptionist at check out did not seem as friendly as the receptionist who dealt with us at check-in. Based on her demeanour etc, I started to feel I wouldn't use the hotel again - as she almost spoiled what had been a lovely break for us.

a fantastic hotel with lovely gardens a lovely pool and very friendly and helpful staff I only wish that we had known where the room we were allocated was in conjuction with the kitchen,we will be going again hopefully sooner rather than later (3304829019)

positive comments the hotel, the grounds and the staff were excellent you felt really at home in a very nice atmosphere breakfast was excellent
negative comments unfortunately we were allocated room 22 which was right above the kitchen when we arrived back to our room at about 11 30 pm we had to open the windows because it was a very humid evening and all we heard was the hubbub of the kitchen for quite a while and then we had the fumes from the kitchen coming straight into the window this unfortunately did put a downer on the weekend but it is a fantastic hotel unless you are allocated room 22

The hotel is in a lovely location very convenient for Farnham. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was large, with plenty drawers and a small wardrobe. It had a balcony with a nice view. The breakfast was very good and we had one meal in the restaurant, which was excellent. The bed however was awful. It was one that can fold up into the wall so the room can be used for conferences. We slept very badly both nights. This obviously spoilt what could have been a lovely stay. (3304781877)

positive comments The location of the hotel. The size , balcony and view of the room. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff. The food was very good.
negative comments The BED was awful. Two very disturbed nights sleep, very much spoilt what could have been a lovely stay.

Staff at breakfast were very pleasant. The breakfast was generous. I would have liked to have known that on the day of arrival a wedding would be taking place and that it may be a little difficult to park and check in during certain times. Later in the day staff on reception were warmer, possibly less busy than when we arrived. If we had been staying longer, I would have wanted to know that a wedding would be taking place the next day in the function room opposite our bedroom and that we may be disturbed by the celebrations. I think we will ask the question next time if any weddings are happening, as this seems to be the core business for the hotel. We were not made to feel valued as customers, as all attention was taken in focussing on the wedding guests. The room was small but adequate, if a little tired looking. The water from the taps seemed to be heavily chlorinated, it smelt like the swimming pool. We did not raise this with anyone, assuming it was a local problem with water. However, the water was so bad, we did not feel able to make use of the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Having said that the location was very handy for getting into Farnham easily and we would use the hotel again. (2651869)

positive comments Location, pleasant grounds, attractive building
negative comments The reception area was very busy on our arrival due to a wedding, it was therefore difficult to get to the desk to check in and, probably because it was a busy time, the initial contact was not as welcoming as it could have been.

After one nights stay I cannot say any more than we enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpfull, the overall impression was of an old stately home, in a fair to good state of repair. Our 15 year old daughter and here girlfriend were a little lost for things to do, but then again they don't ride horses or appreciate the coutrysde as mush as us older folks ! We (the wife and I) would like to return in the near future to experience a little more of the surrounding area. (2653413)

positive comments The hotel was set back from the main road with a long narrow lane, which takes you past grazing horses in a truly beautiful English countryside setting. We will not hesitate to used this hotel again.
negative comments Double beds were a little too small, the mattresses were beginning to show wear and tear, the springs are starting to effect a good nights sleep..

I was booked for three nights and had to cancel the last night because of the lack of sleep due to the terrible condition of the bed in our room. For the price of the room, the bed was unacceptable. I travel extensively with my job and it is important to have a good shower and a decent night's sleep. I had to forfeit my last night's stay and left the hotel feeling unhappy about my stay.
