The hotel was generally good although our bathroom had not been cleaned and the dirty towels were just left on the floor. However, this was soon rectified. The bed was awful, hard and springs sticking through mattress. The bar/lounge areas is quite small therefore smoke had penetrated everywhere. The overall state of the hotel was a little tired and outdated but the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good. I would recommend but with the aformentioned reservations. positive comments proximity to sea and restaurant - parking facilities
negative comments cigarette smoke in the bar and bed

I would like to have seen a good review of all rooms so I could have been forewarned on what standard to expect. Details of all rooms need to be shown so you can weed out ones that are inadequate. (3305394437)

positive comments Good spacious room with adequate facilities.
negative comments First night the room was inadequate as it was basically a single room with no facilities for putting clothes into drawers and the wardrobe was single size. No space to put suitcases away. Also bathroom light did not work and we had to use light over hand basin. The shower was inadequate and the room smelt of smoking and was noisy due to night club next door. However on complaining the following day we were moved to a much better room with good facilities, although this room could have done with an extra easy chair.

The hotel is located in a very quiet area of seafront with very little going on - especially at night.I took a 2 night break with my 10 year old son and ended up traveling into great yarmouth. On the plus side the hotel had character, was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good and we found kept us going until dinner. The room had a huge bed although a bit hard for my taste. On the whole I would say this was good value for money. (3305234013)

positive comments staff pleasant, rooms clean and nice and cool
negative comments Bed hard (but then I always find beds too hard in hotels). not enough parking space when hotel full

positive comments the location near the sea & town. Good value.
negative comments the bed in the first room was terrible - we had to ask to be moved to another room. Also, the rooms were rather sparse.

The hotel was very central, right on the sea front, staff were very welcoming and accommodating especially the receptionist who'd like to visit Ireland, the barman and doorman. The bar food was good we didn't actually try the dining room, good breakfast and requests are catered for. It was great value for money we booked the April special. The rooms were nice and cleaned daily, great room service we had breakfast served in bed. I'll definately stay there on my next visit all in all a very cosy hotel. (3304529019)

positive comments Great Value for money, the staff were extremely friendly and the food was good.
negative comments nothing had a great time
