positive comments Its proximity to the beach and town.
negative comments The size of bedroom was too small and we did not like it being in an annexe to the main hotel, plus there was a disco directly below in Sunday night which was noisy.

We had to book late in the season, so felt we were lucky to find a room in any hotel which we could afford. Sun Court is an 'old-fashioned' hotel which has been upgraded with en suite facilities and bright new furnishings in the rooms. It is easy to find and convenient for all local facilities in Bournemouth and Poole. It would be very important for older people and those with difficulty moving to make sure that the hotel knew of their needs as our room was incredibly small and it was very difficult for my slightly disabled partner to get into and use the en-suite shower and loo. Also, the walk to the hotel next door for breakfast might be difficult for those who have walking difficulties but wheelchair access was provided albeit with a sharp turn down a slope. To sum up:an old fashioned building with a clean bright room, very small ensuite but cheerful, friendly staff. Overpriced but it was August. (3305100276)

positive comments Bright, clean room. Friendly staff.
negative comments An incredibly small double room that had obviously been quickly upgradedto include television and en-suite. The en-suite was so smalkl that my partner could scarcely get into the shower and had to sit on the loo with the door open!! The loo did not work - we had to keep lifting the top and operating the cistern by hand!! Not value for money at

Disgusted with the could not care less attitude of the majority of staff in this hotel. Offered and accepted 1 night free of our two night stay . Exceptions to this are Mr Ship duty manager , Senior receptionist on sunday afternoon, the young lad in the leisure club with dark hair and a light blue polo shirt. Unable to identify any other members of staff involved (there were loads !!) due to staff wearing badges bearing their forename only. Giving a refund did not make up for the disappointment by our kids and the stress levels of their parents - a ruined weekend away !! Having said all of the above, the hotel is in an excellent location on the west cliff area of bournemouth near the beach, shops and local very reasonably priced restaurants. (3304399618)

positive comments Initial impression of exterior of hotel poor Initial impression of room excellent
negative comments On first night of our stay at 6pm no heating or hot water in the room. reception very unhelpful and unsympathetic to our needs. Attempted to assist on the night, with portable heater and a vain attempt at bleeding the radiator!! Still no hot water by 7pm . At this point my husband and I boiled two kettles and washed our hair in the sink in the bathroom. Due to the delay our first evening away was very short . A quick meal, stroll into the town and back to the hotel room at about 9.00 pm. With young children (7yrs and 10yrs) we wanted to be out by at least 6.30pm to make a longer evening out for us all. Following morning - water lukewarm, too cold for any form of shower or bath . Mr Ship duty manager came to the room at about 8 am and suggested moving us into the main hotel building (the connaught). We agreed and were assured our luggage would be moved over almost immediately. This did not happen. On enquiry at reception we were told porters also double as waiters and that was why no luggage moved. We informed them we were going to the beach. On return at 2pm . Luggage still in sun court room !! 3 members of staff came up to suite 30 with us and tried to sort out the key system . This took approx half an hour ! We were all now exhausted with the whole hotel process. I left my husband in the room sleeping and took the kids to the leisure club pool- it was closed !!!!! Staff member told me no staff the night before, so chlorine levels not topped up. Returned to our room.

A good, clean hotel in a fantastic location - close to the beach and the town centre. Great facilities although our room & ensuite was tiny and the single glazed windows let a lot of noise in & rattled alarmingly in the wind meaning we did not get a good nights sleep! Staff were friendly and polite. Unfortunately the breakfast menu did not cater for vegetarians. (2650256)

positive comments Good facilities - indoor and outdoor pool, car park, close to town & beach.
negative comments Size of room, single glazed windows made the room very noisy.
