the hotel is under renovation, kinda messy and noisy. We have to reactivate our room key everyday, really frustrating.

Very
central
The
lifts left a lot to be desired as their were only two and they have to
service a huge number of guests ,long waits outside the doors and crammed at peak times.

Really good location in the centre of Manchester with the added benefit of a car park.
It is undergoing refurbishment at the moment, which seems to have been going on for years, we stayed in one of the refurbished rooms, clean enough but very small & would have been much better if the bathroom had a fan, and a fridge in the room would have been good. (97518171)
Central Location
No fan in
bathroom, no fridge in room, stocks of tea coffee & milk not replenished after first night

When we booked in we were not told that the hotel was being renovated and the noise the next morning for over an hour was shattering.
Although the manager told us that there were signs within the building explaining the renovation process we did not see them and were told that it shouldn't be bothering us because we were three floors down.
from 9-30am till 10-40 we were subjected to drilling which seemed like it was coming through our bedroom wall and as we had been to a concert the night before we would have benefitted from a quieter room.
We were offered another room however this was at 10-40 and we were due to check out at 12, and the hotel saw to it that we didn't have to pay for our room service.
the staff are friendly and professional and i would stay here again however i will check the signs in the main reception area first.
this hoetl is central to everything we wanted with regard to pubs and clubs within this area of manchester and close enough to pay for a taxi (five pound) to get us to the MNE arena for our concert (99252572)

it had a
nice feel about the hotel

the noise on the morning

We felt that the hotel in general needs a makeover. Although our room was very clean it was quite shabby in appearance and the bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. To be fair we didn't feel we had been overcharged but I would prefer to pay more and have better facilities. We only stayed one night so this wasn't a problem but if we'd been there longer I think I would have wished we'd gone elsewhere. (99401810)

The staff were
friendly and
helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the
food and
service was very good.

It was in a
central position which was what we needed.

I had a problem getting into my room. The door was very stiff which caused some problems. Also the
lifts were very slow.

we enjoyed our break very much and for the price we paid the accomadation was fine. (99097096)

the
location was excellent, the
reception staff were very
helpful and
friendly and the staff in the resteraunt were very

the
lifts were quite
old - you never knew what
floor you were going to end up on! although the room was
clean and tidy and
comfortable it was slightly
shabby in areas.

The staff are excellent, couldn't be more helpful. The rooms are in serious need of updating. Don't visit in very hot weather as no aircon. Free parking is a big bonus. (3305053571)

The staff were excellent and it was really good to have a quilt instead of blankets.

The room
decor was
old and tatty, the carpet was threadbare. There was no air conditioning and no ventilation.

I would not stay in this hotel again unless it is refurbished! (2836971)

It was
central and quite easy to find

The hotel is in need of a
refurbishment. It has obviously been a very good hotel which has not been maintained very well - there were bits of wood missing from the
decor and the
lift button from the
bar was hanging off the wall. The
entrance from the street is very
old fashioned and looks
dirty. We were
told that the
breakfast was not included in our room rate and was £11.95 per person - which I think is very expensive. We went to a local restaurant and got a beautiful cooked
breakfast for £5.95 each.
