I would recommend your hotel and will be staying with you again in the next month, but I will not be eating lunch or dinner without assurances that the food has improved. (99015462)

positive comments Excellent staff. Very helpful and friendly. I left an expensive electric toothbrush at your hotel the week before and the lady on the front deck hounded housekeeping until they found it! Thank you.
negative comments The food was disappointing. I had steak twice, both were tuff, salad was not fresh.

positive comments Breakfast was excellent. Location good for what I wanted.
negative comments Our twin bedroom was on the outside and we only got one hour's sleep due to the very loud noise outside all night. The room was also extremely stuffy so couldn't win - too hot to sleep but too noisy to open the window.

The Willowbank Hotel although recently refurbished(!) had a faded air about it. The furnishings were dark and oppressive. The facilities functioned but the bathroom was old fashioned and not very clean. The water did not flow away when showering and I discovered a large plug of hair blocking the drain. The bathroom door had warped and did not close. The dining room was better with well cooked food and pleasant staff. Reception staff were polite and helpful. (99239513)

positive comments Dining room was pleasant and staff helpful. Breakfast plentiful but no muesli available
negative comments The corridor and my room had an unpleasant smell.

We were told the bar would be open until 12pm, when we returned at the end of the evening at 11.30pm, we were told the barman had been sent home early and therefore there was only a limited drinks menu. The next day we were told that the night porter should have offered us the full range of availability from the bar. The night porter was also rude when we arrived back at the hotel, following us to the bar area to abruptly ask us, very loudly, if we were staying there, our names and room number. He obviously thought we had wandered in off the street, but there are subtle ways in which to obtain the information. This was offputting and I would not recommend nor stay there again, because of this. (99472570)

positive comments The cleanliness of the room and the nice breakfast.
negative comments Very small room, tv was not in good working order and the shower did not work properly.

The Willowbank has a great location and is very nicely refurbished, I would prefer a more relaxed breakfast without being rushed and more choice available. (99609034)

positive comments Room recently renovated which was very nice.
negative comments Breakfast is always a disappointment, it is meant to be served till 10.00am but never much left and staff reluctant to refill empty trays and always clearing your table as you finish, particularly at the weekend probably 9.30 onwards is the busiest time as most visitors have been to an event the night before.

Not really suitable for elderly who have difficulty walking up stairs as I had my elderly mother with me and she did find the stairs up to reception & room a bit of a hassle. Otherwise no complaints thanks for a good overnight stay (3305080558)

Although the room was a bit small it was very comfortable. The staff were all very pleasant - both in reception and in the restaurant. Good supply of tea and coffee in hospitality tray - not rationed as is often the case - and biscuits too! The breakfast was excellent. The hotel corridors lacked little touches like pictures on the wall to make it more welcoming. In spite of these minor points we would return. - A very pleasant experience. (3304811955)

positive comments Very quiet room. King-sized bed.
negative comments A bit small for an executive room.
