Friendly staff; arranged for out early a.m. taxi pick-up. Clean, quiet.

I found this hotel on the internet and understood it to be close to the airport. I do not consider 30 minutes "close." Directions to take the metro were not adequate, and we ended up going to the airport, figuring "close" wouldn't cost us 20 euros. It would be helpful to alert guests that there is a surcharge to catch a taxi at the airport. We would have been much better off to get off at an earlier metro stop and take the taxi from that point. We arrived about 11:00, after many hours of travel and stresed out about the high taxi fare. We left at 3:30 a.m. I forgot that the desk clerk had not returned my passport on the spot, and the morning clerk didn't remember to give it to me. The result was that I realized the fact about 20 minutes to the airport, had to turn around, and the taxi driver charges us 50 Euros for the trip. As we were given to understand, we shouldn't have been charged the airport 3.50 surcharge when the trip didn't originate at the airport. So our taxi fares equalled the hotel rate. I felt the desk staff was negligent in failing to hand me my passport when I checked out, and it cost me dearly. Very basic room: one towel per person, no shampoo, no shower curtain.

Clean, quiet, good value for money

Rooms rented by the hour! No lifts for heavy luggage

This is important. As a female travelling solo for 3 months (so with a large case on wheels) this hotel had no lift, and the accomodation started about 6 flights of stairs above the reception area. Although the owner took my bags up to my room when I checked in I had to get the case down in the morning. It would be good if your website included details of whether the hotel has a lift and/or ease of access to accommodation. (97497291)
